Bristol Palin's Due Date

Posted By: Curious on 2008-12-18
In Reply to:

According to Levi Johnson, the baby daddy, Bristol Palin's due date is TODAY, December 18. It'll be interesting to see and hear what happens or doesn't happen in the next couple of weeks.

Here's how desperate the GOP is: During their convention, in September the religious family-values party trotted out an unwed teenage mother-to-be and the knucklehead who knocked her up, and they gave them a standing ovation.

Bristol Palin interview...(sm)
Looks like Bristol is going to be the complete opposite of her mother.  In the interview she said that abstinence is "not realistic."  Good for her!  Another thing that got my attention was the use of the word "choice" when speaking about her decision to have the child.   Hmmm....
You should all apologize to Sarah and Bristol Palin....

http://www.audacityofhypocrisy.com/2008/08/30/dailykos-rumors-debunked-here-is-sarah-palin-pregnancy-photo-on-feb-10th-2008/

geezzzz, people.

So tell me - what political office does Levi Johnson and Bristol Palin hold -sm
Answer: None. What contract did they sign? Answer: None. If they did sign a contract like you said they did, I'd like to see the paper with their signatures on it. This post has nothing to do with the job that Gov. Palin is doing. It has nothing to do with what she is doing in her office, politics, or for the people of Alaska. It is not talking about issues that affect our lives on a daily basis (like skyrocketing taxes, unemployment, people losing homes, etc). This post is about as juvenile as they come. Again you need to take this to the gab board or a website that speaks of such juvenile issues.

Last I knew Sarah Palin was not exploiting anything right now. She has gone back to Alaska and is no longer running for VP for an election that has ended. And if you want to talk about exploiting children lets talk about Biden and that grandson he grabbed up and held onto everytime a camera came into site. It was like watching George with Kuato attached to his chest from the movie Total Recall. Now that there is a crat prop if I ever saw one.

If you hate Palin so much then fine. At least have the decency to pick on her for something she did. Levi Johnson and Bristol Palin do not hold any political office and they did not sign any contracts so that they could be bashed and harrassed the rest of their lives.

You said it "if you are looking for a more intelligent read, I suggest you start reading comic books". So you even admit that your posts are less intelligent than comic books.

I would suggest you and others that want to continue this juvenile discussion there are still issues of Archie and Veronica and Veronica and Betty comic books out there you could read too.

As for non-political issues (i.e. Levi Johnson and Bristol Palin's personal lives) take it to the gab board or a teenager website where you could discuss til your hearts content. Leave this board for political discussions.

And give it a rest. We are sick of non-political issues on this board.
Bristol might not want to be a celeb

Wasn't it nice for Jamie Lynn to support her?  NOT!  Big Ole Not!  But it's a private matter, but I bet she puts Jamie Lynn's expensive bib on her new baby!  What is this world coming to?  And you all say celebs and politicians don't mix!  Even Dr. Phil has something to say...

Bristol also stated that she would...
have preferred getting pregnant 10 years later, having finished her college education and having landed a job.
Sounds to me that she was prevented to make her choice.
In Bristol's house, choice was never
Who know's? If she had felt comfortable enough to come to her mother about birth control, she may not now be in the position to (In Palin's own word) "grow up faster than we had ever thought." Furthermore, this begs the question of sex education taboos, both in the household and in the schools, parental controls over acess to education, the judgment involved in making these decision about access to education and birth control and so forth. Guess Plain was having a bit of difficulty balancing her priorities while governor. Of course, lost in the shuffle is the fact that no one will ever know how Bristol feels about her siutation, the decisions that she may or may not have made herself and the national spotlight she now finds herself in. This coming out of the ethics-housekeeper's own house. Unwittingly, she has really shone a brand new light on herself and the issues at hand. Way to go, Palin. John McCain probably knows by now that maybe he should have done a bit more homework before he got himself and his party into this pickle.
Bristol betrothed to (*&%* redneck

Already intensely caricatured, Mrs Palin and her family face heavy exposure as the US and international media attempt to fill the vacuum of information about the relatively little-known 44-year-old mother of five.

The most recent revelations surround the announcement that her teenage daughter, Bristol, was pregnant.

In a statement, Mrs Palin, who is avowedly pro-life, said Bristol intended to have the baby and would marry the father, Levi Johnston.

Johnston has described himself on his MySpace page as "a f***ing redneck", the New York Post reports. "But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s*** and just f***in' chillin' I guess," the 18-year-old hockey player wrote.

"Ya f --- with me I'll kick [your] a$$."

His My Space page has since been removed.

Johnston also wrote: "I don't want kids."

If you insist, we could always bring Bristol
unlike McC's supporters, I actually listen to my candidate when he says off limits. You are too covered with mud to realize he was defending your idiotic VP candidate and trying to shield her and her family from the glare of some VERY unfavorable media. The only chickens around this roost coming back are the ones that W set loose in the coop. I'll pass on following up the skeletons in McC's closet out of respect for my candidate's feelings. REAL American family values tell us not to go there.
Do not patronize. Bristol has no real voice here.
She, her baby and her husband be living their private lives out on the alter of sacrifice for the sake of SP, regardless of how the news got out there. It's out now and mom's ambitions played just as much role in this tragedy as any rumor factory you will repeatedly try to use as a scapegoat. No need to beat this dead horse and repeat youself a thousand times tonight. The media will not show restraint and the internet, even less. We will all have our bellies full of this as the convention grinds on. One thing is certain, Palin just rained on her own parade.
McCain knew about Bristol before he picked her so what on Earth does that say...sm
about his judgment?!?! Palin has her hands full at home...I understand why he chose a woman but why this one I will never understand?!?!
Where do think they fit on the Bristol Stool Scale? My guess is type 1 nm

Maybe he will sell it to pay for his date

I think the kid just wants Ann Coulter to be his date to the prom.

Did you notice the date? Have you checked out
huge bodies of evidence to the contrary? Besides that, what's your point?
Here's a funny for you. Note the date.

Potentially Big News on Lieberman's Cap-and-Trade Proposal

Posted September 20, 2007 | 05:06 PM (EST)

Recently, one of the most irksome members of the Senate, Joe Lieberman (I-Clowntown) expressed openness to one of the boldest and most effective climate-change policies possible. Some background,

A cap-and-trade system begins by placing a cap on carbon emissions and distributing permits (permission to emit a certain amount of CO2) equal to the capped amount. The notion is that permits will be bought and sold, allowing market forces to determine where emission reductions can be made fastest and easiest. The question is how to distribute those initial permits.

When the EU carbon trading system was established, permits were given away based on emissions, meaning the biggest polluters got the most permits. The idea was that those polluters most needed the money because they had the biggest reductions to make, but in practice it was an enormous financial windfall for their shareholders and prompted very little action on their part to reduce emissions.

The alternative is to sell the permits at auction. This would, in effect, put the proceeds in government coffers rather than in the pockets of utility shareholders. The question then becomes: what should the gov't do with all that money (up to $50B a year)?

The Lieberman-Warner cap-and-trade proposal, released early this year, was widely seen as the "moderate" bill that could get some support from Senate Republicans. One of the biggest criticisms it faced is that it would auction only 20% of the permits -- 80% would be given away to polluters.

But an intriguing item in Politico indicates that Lieberman may be open to changing that:

Lieberman, following a forum sponsored by the Progressive Policy Institute Wednesday, said such a change to his legislation was possible. "We've heard [calls for a 100 percent auction] from some stakeholders and heard that from some of our members. We're thinking about it. Warner and I haven't closed our minds to that. It's on the table," he said.

This could be huge news. The L-W proposal is viewed as the middle of the road. If it moves to 100% auctioned credits, that will effectively sanctify it as the new baseline. The policy and political implications are both huge.

McCain's Emission-Reduction Plan Receives Favorable Review

by: Frank Carlson

P

Posted August 11, 2008 | 11:43 AM (EST)

As U.S. Senators Barack Obama and John McCain begin their long descent into tit-for-tat rhetorical games, it's easy to forget key issues the two still broadly agree on: federally funded stem-cell research; nuclear nonproliferation; comprehensive immigration reform; faith-based social services; and global warming.

Obama and McCain agree that human-induced global warming exists and even on the system America should adopt to counteract it -- cap and trade, a plan that sets a limit (cap) on the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by manufacturers and power plants, for example, and then hands out credits that polluters can trade among themselves to pull themselves within the legal limits. Heavy emitters of greenhouse gases have to buy credits from low-level emitters. Cap-and-trade plans reward all sides for reducing emissions. Low-level emitters reduce in order to pile up additional credits to sell and high-level emitters reduce in order to spend less on credits.

Where Obama and McCain disagree on the plan concerns the role of the government, specifically how the government should allocate permits to companies. And unlike the current, silly spat over tire pressure gauges, this one matters.

Obama favors a full auction of the credits, which would act like a tax on companies, collecting a great deal of money right off the bat for the government to redistribute. This cash, he says, could go to alternative energy research and projects, then the credits would go to markets.

McCain says he would dole out permits in much the same way proposed by the Climate Security Act of 2007. That act failed in June to receive enough Senate support to even bring to a vote, but the basics are the same: Give the great majority of the permits away, and let the market set the price to support investment.

Here is where conventional political lines become blurred.

If you favor a more free market approach, McCain's plan may be for you because the government would collect far less money from businesses for redistribution. But if you're spooked by special interests, political favors for lobbyists and political corruption--as McCain says he is--then perhaps you side with Obama's strategy.

So what does Richard Sandor, architect of the wildly successful cap and trade system for reducing sulfur dioxide(SO2) and now CEO of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), say?

He's for a partial auction of credits like the one McCain is backing.

"If you look at full auctioning of permits, what happens?" Sandor asked reporters during a recent interview at his office near the Board of Trade in downtown Chicago. "The day that they are auctioned, you have a net transfer of wealth from the private sector to the public sector at that moment. What, then, happens to climate change? Nothing has happened. You have just had a transfer of wealth.
Climate Exchange, the first voluntary but legally
binding market for trading emissions in North America.

It's better to let the private sector decide where the money should go, Sandor says, which is why he's against a carbon tax. And, he adds, there is precedent for believing so.

"The program that's worked is SO2," Sandor said. "Some amount of auctioning is, I think, OK. We will implement whatever the government does. We don't have an official opinion, but I'm guided by the SO2 program and how it accomplished its objectives so cheaply that that's the way to do it."

Sandor insisted the CCX is not a policy-making entity and that it will implement any system lawmakers put forth. Much like pilots, he said, the CCX will fly whichever planes the engineers--or rather, politicians--design.

"If you design it wrong," he said, "you may have to go 30 extra miles, you may have some accidents, or crashes, and we really speak to the efficacy of the design and leave public policy to the people who are policy makers in Washington. We're not advocates."

The CCX is currently North America's only voluntary but legally binding platform for trading carbon and other emissions. Even without a mandatory cap and trade system in the U.S., many companies have already begun to reduce their emissions in the hopes of improving their public image and perhaps reaping revenues through emissions reductions.

While Sandor explains why he's against Obama's plan for the full auction of credits, his greatest priority is getting mandatory cap and trade in place, whatever the framework. Undoubtedly, this would be a great boon to the CCX, and Sandor believes it is coming.

"Both candidates, McCain and Obama, have publicly embraced it," Sandor said. "I believe in their hearts that they're committed to reducing global warming and see it as a major threat. Is it inevitable? I think so. Could there be bumps? Yes."

Those bumps, worries Sandor, include a terrorist attack that could dislodge global warming from the political agenda in favor of dealing with more immediate problems.

"And that's the nightmare scenario that I worry about because it's easy to not worry about intergenerational problems when you have immediate security needs," he says. "And I'm not suggesting that they aren't more important. In fact, they are. But the thing that will slip will be the longer-based horizon, and I think that's a danger that we have."As U.S. Senators Barack Obama and John McCain begin their long descent into tit-for-tat rhetorical games, it's easy to forget key issues the two still broadly agree on: federally funded stem-cell rese...

Sarah Palin fans are as whack as Palin.
Even John McCain's top adviser referred to Sarah Palin as a whack job.
Vote McCain and Palin! -oh and why does Palin
nm
Palin over Biden any day. Make fun of Palin all you
nm
Sarah Palin makes Sarah Palin look stupid!
The Democrats did not make Sarah Palin look stupid. Sarah Palin does a fine job of looking stupid without help from anyone. All she has to do is open her mouth!
Palin might not have taken it anywhere
but it is not her job to seek taking books off shelves, period.  And you don't know if this is "political crap" or not because the media has not been permitted to ask her any questions.  Once voters get these answers, then they will have the necessary information with which to make a decision as to whether or not this is who we/they want in office.  I, for one, am not going to skew her with a pitchfork or defend her as I have no information with which to do so, either way.  I need answers to these questions that have been floating out there. Questions and answers are very important in our form of government called democracy which is for the people, of the people and by the people.  Freedom comes with a gigantic amount of responsibility, is not to be taken lightly, and is very fragile.
and Palin

accused Hillary of whining when she protested.  Talk about unity among women.

What Palin said is exactly right....
we haven't fought Iraqis since Baghdad fell. We have been fighting the insurgency "Al Qaeda In Iraq" since then. And if I am not mistaken, AL Qaeda was responsible for 9-11.

It appears there are others than Sarah Palin who are "clueless."

Sarah Palin is not running for President. Obama is. ANd he has been running for 18 months. If he had done an interview 3 weeks into it, he would have done no better than she did, and probably worse.

lol.
Why would Palin do this? sm

She banned reporters from her 1st meeting with world leaders.  Only allowed access to photographers and a television crew.  I'm just curious as to if anybody read as to why.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080923/ap_on_el_pr/palin_leaders

Now if only Palin would say....
for the love of Pete.....LOL!  I say that all the time and get teased horribly for it.
Palin

Palin has many shady contacts also:

She has backed the Alaska Independence Party.  Its platform calls for the defense of "states rights," to "seek the complete repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska in conformance with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17, of the federal constitution." Basically, the AIP wants a vote on secession. The AIP says that Gov. Sarah Palin used to be a member of the party. Earlier this year, Palin recorded a welcoming address to the AIP's convention.

Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.

And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."

In an interview of extremists Mark Chryson and Steve Stoll helped launch Palin’s political career in Alaska, and in return had influence over policy. “Her door was open,” says Chryson — and still is.

So, this is group is just one of her past supporters.  They helped her get where she is today.  And dont even get me started on McCain.

Palin
Just dont try to marry into her family and then divorce because then she will come after you with all her power that the VP will give her.  Talk about abuse of power!  They they flat out refuse to testify?  I didnt know anyone had that right.
Palin
Because SHE wanted to be there.
What exactly is it about Palin you don't like?
I like the fact that Mccain chose her after only meeting her once or twice. If he had chosen someone he has known for 20 years or so or someone he is buddies with, everyone would have jumped on him for choosing a friend.

And please don't get on about how she talks, etc., (not just saying this to you gourdpainter, to everyone) how many people have actually looked past how she talks and what she has named her children to what her stance is on the issues?

You can make fun of her for saying seeing Russia from Alaska is foreign policy experience (she WAS joking!) but then Obama turned around and said there are 57 states... they all make gaffes.

I think that she is a strong woman and she has a good moral base. Yes, her daughter got pregnant, but really, did you all listen to your moms on everything? I know when I was a teenager I went to parties, drank, smoked, even though my mommy told me not too. You can tell your children everything, but believe me, they aren't going to listen to you! Not until they hit about 22 and go "oh crap, mom and dad WERE RIGHT!"

The fact that she brought her Down syndrome child into the world just shows how much love she has. It's nice to see her husband is so active in the raising of their children. I know quite a few dads who aren't. It goes to show she will have a good support group if she becomes VP.

As for her experience, we obviously need to throw the experience argument out this election since Biden and Mccain are about equal and Obama and Palin are about equal.

Also, everyone keeps talking about how they want change and don't want the same old politicians in the white house but then they want to harp on Palin and say "oh she was governor of Alaska, what does she know??" I think it would be refreshing to have someone that isn't from a big city and hasn't been in the Senate. I mean Biden has been there for what, ever? And so has Mccain. So maybe by having this "small town girl" to check him on some things will be good.

I think people just need to get off her case. Dems, if SNL was making fun of Obama every week, you would be furious, and a lot of people would claim racism, etc. I think it is sickening that ANY of our candidates have been reduced to a comedy routine in which they are portrayed in such a bad light. Regardless of what we think of them, our leaders need to be respected. If we can't respect them, then we need to vote them out.

I'm sorry, but if no one can admit that the liberal media has been very biased this election, they have been living under a rock. Even comedy shows, like SNL, Daily show, Colbert, etc have been very left sided. There is no longer any unbiased news. And then because maybe one or two sources go against the grain and lean right they are considered a poor source. That is totally unfair. We are supposed to believe everything the liberal news says, but not what the conservative news says? C'mon. You have to know by now when you watch the news NO MATTER WHO IS REPORTING you need to take it with a grain of salt!

Once again, this is no longer an election. It is a popularity contest. Sad.

Okay...first of all Palin can't
fart without the media reporting about it.  LOL!  I just do not see where you guys say she was being all sneaky.  Did she steal the money from the RNC?  NO....they gave it to her to buy clothes.  Do you want a receipt of every thing the RNC has spent and who they have spent it on because if that is the case, we can request that of the DNC because I'm sure they have similar things they have paid for.  At least Palin didn't say that the clothes were just in her closet like Obama said about Ayers just living in his neighborhood.  I don't see where Palin has tried to hide anything and when it came out....she was honest about it.  That is more than I can say for Mr. Obama who says he never heard Rev. Wright preach any message of hate in the 20 years he attended that church which is all I've ever heard out of Wright's mouth when he has been interviewed on TV.
