against all odds, a bunch of farmers with old muskets and pitchforks in Condord and Lexington, we were rabble, but we beat the British Empire, the greatest empire of its time, not once but twice to maintain our freedom. If we can get that mindset back, then yes we can, we can free ourselved from the tyrany of elitism, suppression of the middle class, and overhaul our social and banking systems. We fought to create and maintain this country, we now have to fight to save it from becoming a sad third-world country, a wasteland. We went from being a "Beacon of Hope" to a laughingstock among nations.

Yep....the rights that the military have fought and died for...
over the years. You know, the might want to say thank you once nin awhile for that too...but that would take common courtesy. Too much to expect I guess. Take, take, take, but never say thank you for those who sacrificed for what is being taken...and taken...and taken FOR GRANTED.
Older and younger white men fought for this
What's the hang up with white men? This country won its freedom because "white men" fought for it.... I'm about sick to death of listening to people say "white" as if it's a bad word, just like if someone is "rich", it's a bad word.
Funny how all those "white" people built organizations that gave lots and lots and lots of people jobs, many I may add that live very nicely in my neighborhood and community on their pensions..... blacks as well.
So, her being Latina doesn't mean squat to me, when all I have seen since more and more illegals invade this country is a welfare state. They know it's a welfare state, that's why they come, for all the freebies.
And, by the way, there are LOTS of blacks AND whites fed up with all the illegals taking their jobs, while all the time being told no one would do those jobs. So, no, I don't necessarily think she will somehow hand down a non-biased judgement of our constitution. I believe she will do just the opposite, because she has already shown she is a very racist person.
There are many people with rich experiences but they are far from qualified to be a supreme court judge.
Looks Like A Revolution To me
Well, you see it your way and Merv Griffin and the big crowd that clapped, whistled, cheered when he said it last night on The Late Late Show see it another way.
Now there is going to be a revolution???
This gets better every minute, but I have got to get back to work.
Viva revolution!
First of all, like you really care about broken windows in Argentina or any third world country, LOL, give me a freaking break! Secondly, hey a little pain for gain..If it takes a few broken windows to show ditto head Bush that he is hated throughout the world and in most parts of America so be it..Revolution is not pretty, it can be quite nasty..and what we are seeing is the American people and, of course, the world turning against Bush, kind of a mini revolution..Viva revolution!!
A bloodless revolution
Merv Griffin on The Late Late Show tonight said it best, the American people have overthrown the government.
Yes, there was a revolution in Cuba....
did not say anything about a revolution here, although with Bill Ayers around...who knows. He could be our next secretary of defense. lol.
our country was started by a revolution

This is what's on Hannity's webpage.

Isn't this something like....oh.....maybe inciting treason or something?
Information on only 1/3 of people wanted American Revolution SM
History Channel. Those figures are based on evidence collected by historians from the surviving documents of the era and are, at best, "guess-timates". Loyalties changed according to which side held a particular territory. If you were a farmer or local merchant and wanted to keep your property (or just stay alive), you signed an oath to King George or the Continental Congress or both if necessary.
This guy is AWESOME!
And from what I've read about him, it would be really hard to *Swiftboat* this guy (not that they'd let facts get in the way of their smear campaigns). If the election were held today, he'd be my choice, as well.
Awesome. Maybe she can use this against the

That would be awesome
but it won't ever happen. I'd be amazed if the government ever did something FOR the people that didn't benefit them!
awesome
I don't have time to really reply to all points here (I'm working again now... just took a few minutes off to watch the press conference).
I didn't make the original post about the stock market, although I did give a shout out.
I know there are casualties in every administration. Everyone has a different story to tell, none of which may have any impact by the government.
Thanks for your extensive response and I hope to be able to respond better later.
Awesome....(sm)
Yet another rambling session and yet....something is missing. Oh, that's right. What's missing is the fact that you can't back up the claim that was made. The question was "what regulations." Your answer thus far is seemingly...the ones that he might put in place...the onces that are in a supposed hidden agenda....the ones that only I can see....
In other words....the claim that small businesses are laying off people as a direct result of Obama legislation is nothing but BS spouted out by the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly and regurgitated by the likes of you. Thank you for proving my point. You know, the thing that absolutely cracks me up about this board is that when people like you are asked a direct question, 9 times out of 10 you can't provide a valid answer. Why is that...I wonder...LOL.
Strike 3...
I think he's awesome...(sm)
I think he is a litte awkward on TV, but I think it's absolutely hilarious. However, he is absolutely dead on with the issues.
Awesome!...(sm)
He doesn't have to go back on Fox. All the other stations will run that clip until its dead.....LOL. BRAVO MR VENTURA!
Awesome post, Sam.

I have an awesome deal right now too (sm)
My husband is a firefighter so we have insurance through the city (BC/BS). That's a relief all by itself! However, the city has gone one step further for its employees. They provide FOR FREE a clinic where you can go for the small stuff (cuts, colds, UTIs, etc). They also provide city employees with FREE medicine so long as they carry it. It has to be generic, but it's such a huge help. What this service provides us: For me: lipid-lowering agent, happy pills, sleeping pills, and PPI. For my husband: Blood pressure medication and PPI.
They did this because it is actually cheaper for them in the long run to provide this service to their employees with health maintenance drugs, thereby reducing the added cost to the insurance from people not being able to afford this medication and ending up in the hospital which in the long run increases the cost of insurance. I just hope they can continue to do this.
Awesome post!!! (sm)
He nailed that one!!!
Awesome post!
Too bad not enough will be motivated by it.
Obama is doing an awesome job!!!!
It's nice to have a president who can go overseas and not come back with the imprint of an Adidas sole in his forehead...
Yes, his speech was awesome, wasn't it?
You ROCK! That is an awesome summary! :-)

my doc is so awesome -- sees me for free
i am so blessed. knows i don't have insurance, doesn't bill me. says if i pay for Rx's and lab work, he won't charge me. and, unbelievably, spends at least 60 to 90 minutes with me talking -- just amazing. small office, just doc, secretary and nurse. says he's not in it to be a millionaire. (put himself thru med school, 1 of 12 kids in his family.) i even know the names of his cats and all of his hobbies. he's in his mid 50s and i hope he never retires...
Awesome post techie! - nm
I guess he is awesome if your standards are

That is awesome. No more stealing our election! Gobama!

Kaydie, your post is awesome and 100% the way that I feel s/m
about the whole thing as well. We are all entitled to our opinions, but let's remember that behind these screen names sits a real person with people who love them. Every one of us has value and something to add to this world. EVEN McCain and Palin are valuable citizens and have something to contribute, even if not from the White House. Obama, although I personally do not agree with his policies in general, will probably be good for our country in many ways. I am giving him a chance in my heart because I know that we all have to stick together. I wish him well and hope that we are a better country because of him, eventually...
Have a good day, MTs!!
awesome - dept. of free stuff

Awesome, thanks. Now I have a list of companies to patronize.
Actually, the list was more a list of individuals who made contributions towards passing prop 8. Seems silly to boycott an entire organization because one guy or gal who happens to be employed there contributed to passing prop 8. Just goes to show you that gay right's activitists lack a certain amount of intelligence.
Awesome. Taft, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover
Eisenhower, Nixon and Ford all bigtime republican socialists! Who knew?
why are you posting here?
I believe in personal responsibility. I dont believe you or the govt have a right to tell anyone what to do with their body. If my choices are wrong, I will stand in judgment when I meet my maker. I also dont follow in lock step with an administration that lies to the people about Iraq. Supporting our troops and not falling for lies about this illegal war are two different things. Yes, it is an illegal war. The world realizes this. The International Court of Justice realizes this. Of course, I support our troops and want them home. Believing in God is a personal decision and should not be shoved down others throats. I believe in separation of church and state, do not mix religion and politics. I dont believe we should have the state and/or president intervening when a spouse wants to let someone pass whose brain is half the size of a normal brain, living only due to rudimentary reflexes and I certainly do not think they should waste my tax dollars on trying to tie the hands of the spouse. These republicans/conservatives are way out of control in so many ways. It would be quite laughable if it wasnt so pitiful. I believe this is not a Christian country but a country with many religions and beliefs and I respect the people enough to let them choose what to believe. Seems to me nowadays democrats are acting like the way republicans used to, i.e., keep govt at a minimum and out of personal business, keep the budget balanced or as close to balance as possible. Republicans/conservatives are so off course right now. They are trying to invade into the states rights and personal rights. They have waged an immoral illegal war, my children and my childrens children will be paying to reduce this massive deficit, caused by republicans. Yes I oppose **liberating** other countries who dont ask us to help. Who the heck do we think we are, invading a soverign country and pushing our beliefs and religion and morals down their throats? Iraq is worse off today than it was under Saddam. Under Saddam, they had jobs, food, electricity, a life of certainty and definitely not lawlessness in the streets. We have killed tens of thousands of Iraqis with the excuse of liberating them. We have created a terrorist breeding ground and it will continue. The minute we kill off terrorists, their sons and daughters will rise up and fight back. We are just as bad as Saddam with our sickening war machine.
Thanks for posting this.
that's what it's all about.

In an odd sense of.....oh...whatever, please continue to post here. No one wants you not to (gosh, it must be the green tea Im drinking this morning). *note to me, get rid of that darn republican green tea*..
Not posting here
What is it about this issue that makes you people think that anyone finds YOU to be a threat to the point where you are all suddenly retreating and saying you won't post here any more???????????
The problem is with the breach of security on this site. Unless you're the owner/moderator/administrator, this does not apply to you personally.
This issue should have been brought to the forefront on the company board a week ago when this incident happened, but I guess too many people were shocked by the blatant lack of ethics and the not so subliminal message that if anyone says anything negative about this company, your ISP will be tracked, and at that point, I, along with probable others, was afraid to post anything further.
why do they keep posting here?
For the life of me, I dont understand why these same bitter so angry conservatives come over to the liberal board and post. They are not wanted here. I guess the anger just builds up as they try to live their obviously unhappy lives and when they cant stand it any more, they come over here to start trouble. It just bugs the heck out of them that we are patriotic, love the troops and want them home alive. Some of these radical neocons actually say the troops are fighting for our freedom and freedom of speech? What? The war in Iraq has nothing to do with our freedom or freedom of speech. They will just throw anything out there to try to justify Bush's war. They sound so silly, just makes me shake my head and laugh. A bunch of fools.
Wow, thanks for posting

Thanks for posting.
I really like Paul Krugman.
Thank you for posting this.
And thanks Lurker for writing it. Lurker brought up many, many valid issues and good points. I wonder why nobody on that other board even bothered to address those issues.
There was someone posting here sm
In fact several, and I thought one of them was you, who were listing lots of links that Bush engineered 9/11. I guess I was mistaken, but someone was posting it here.
Thank you for posting this!
My heart was really heavy...was I was not aware of this stance until this thread began. It is indeed heartening to know this. Thanks again!
Thanks for posting
I think you made my point better than I did when I was discussing this. I don't think it was always clear exactly how the program worked. From what I had read, the basics of the program were staying essentially the same - that the states had the control over who they covered. The only things, at least from what I saw, that the expansion did was allow the federal government to raise their limit (which states do not have to necessarily comply with, it just gives the states more options), collect more income for the states' programs, and allow more agencies to help decide eligibility. Everything would still essentially be in the states' hands.
Thanks for posting that
That's the sort of stuff I was looking for. The article I read was obviously skewed the other direction. In a way, I think it makes me like him more. There are so many people in this country who are completely turned off by politics. They see it as a bunch of rich white men controlling their lives. Because he is so candid about his past, I think there will be a large number of people who feel that they can relate to him better than any other candidate.
It sounds a little crazy to say, but I think his honesty will help him.
Thanks for posting!

Hey sam....thanks so much for posting....sm
I knew you could explain it much more succinctly than I could.
