At this point, I think it is too late.

In Reply to: I heard that too, in Ohio, one of the many states of Acorn - democratic fraud.
They WILL steal the election, but I am voting for McCain anyway. Absolutely disgraceful what is going on.

Too little, too late ?????
I was clarifying my position. Are you not the one who **doesn't need a mother spouting moral holier-than-thou sermons** and the one who is **sick of it.** Telling me too little to late, you can't backpeddle now, the damage is done!!! Are you serious??? What damage, to whom, what backpeddling??. If you are reading my post as an apology you are mistaken. It was just clarification to Observer's post where she said she did not understand why I thought the president should not be there...and I answered her that was not what I meant.
I know it's too late now
But does anyone else look at these two candidates for president and think, This is it? The best the United States has to offer?
For that matter, I thought the same thing before the primaries. I don't know if any of these yahoos has what it takes.
It's sad, really.
I think it is too late
to save him. His choice of her shows impulsivity and pandering. People are aware of these characteristics now. Sarah will contribute to his defeat at the hands of the voters, but she is not responsible for it.
Also, too little, too late . . .
there is absolutely no sincerity in McCain's efforts to now try to undo the damage he has done. He is so insincere that his own supporters don't believe him now. He is the one that encouraged this mob fervor in the first place and now he had literally created monstors!
Sorry so late.
No they don't supply BK, at least not at this time.
It's a little late in the game, isn't it?
It's late...never mind nm

Late term...(sm)
If the infant is able to survive outside the womb, then it would fall on the physician to do whatever possible to save that life (even if that includes refusing to do an abortion), just like any other. I don't think you'll find too many docs who will actually do abortions that late because it's increasingly dangerous for the mother. I think most clinics only go up to about 15 or 16 weeks anyway. I do think that if you are going to have an abortion it should be done in a timely manner anyway for the mother's health. I also believe that if the mother's life is in danger from the pregnancy, a late-term abortion may be necessary. And then there's the money. I wonder how many people have to opt for late-term abortions because it takes them that long to get the money for the abortion. Yet another reason to add in abortion to family planning services.
This was in the late 70s early 80s
As far as I know, none of my friends slept with these students. One of the guys used to come up to our hometown and spend the night and never ever acted like he was interested in "conquering" my friend or I. We were all just friends. maybe the times were different?
Keep your hate - you are much too late

Am I too late to vote?? AGAINST!!!

This is a little late, but here is my opinion
Gore is a sore loser and should keep his mouth shut. He is still bitter over losing the election and every time he opens his mouth it shows. He was worthless as VP and even more worthless now. His whole life is based on lies he creates thinking everyone is so stupid they will believe him. Nothing he has to say is of any significance and if he crawled back into the hole he crawled out of the world would be a better place.
Gore has no right to criticize anything anyone has to say.
He talks about policies being un-American? What I consider un-American is putting out the lies about global warming, while he rides around with his enterage (sp?) of limos, SUVs, and planes. And is trying to bank off of this farce he is creating, and just so happens the companies that you buy (or whatever it is you do) with the carbon credits...he gains financially from.
I'm certainly no Cheney fan, but Gore critizing him???? I wish Mr. Hore would just go away.
Probably a little too late........ but have a great vac, ! nm
x
But that's the whole McCain strategy of late! sm
Keep repeating the same lies and half-truths over and over in spite of the facts, and some people will believe it. Oh, and make sure to keep people really, really afraid. That always works well for Republicans too.
Hey, it worked for George W. Bush, and here we are, 8 years later, with Karl Rove and friends at it again now, this time for McCain. "Country First"? More like "party first" and "winning first" for McCain.
A day late and a dollar short......
xx
too late, Bush has already taken care of that
xx
I think it is way too late now to make a change...sm
I think that McCain was not allowed to pick who he wanted to be his running mate and pressured by the extreme right wing of the republican party to choose her, most likely men thinking that her choice would win over democrat and independent women. Big mistake. I think if he was still the old John McCain, he probably could have gotten Colin Powell as his running mate. I hope Obama appoints him to secretary of defense or secretary of state in his administration.
It's getting late and the lack of information
way more time than I have at the moment to address. Obama spent much time in Kenya in an OFFICIAL capacity....sent there while serving on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I will be expanding on this tomorrow and look forward to the slam dunk that a few tiny facts will exact on this trash you are trying to peddle.
My late husband is buried
next to a plot where unborn fetuses (is that the plural????) are born. Very sad. Those parents keep flowers on the little graves. Obviously those were unborn children who were wanted by their parents.
Last I heard late last night was
Supposedly car companies are just "burning" up money each month. We need more economic and fuel efficient cars NOW, but car companies are saying it will take 2 years. Car companies as of right now do not have enough money for the end of this quarter and money will be dried up. No purchasing cars through lenders and so on. Pelosi and her crew do not know what do. If car companies are bailed out now, they will probably have to be bailed out again and again for the next 2 years. If Pelosi allows to keep bailing out the car companies, next will be the airlines and so on. Pelosi might decide to just let car companies bankrupt. That will be hundreds of thousands of jobs gone along with lawyers, human resources, paper product companies, and everything related to car companies. Sounds like we are heading for The Great Depression. This was all on CNMBC news late last night. I AM NOT FOR DOOM AND GLOOM, but I do look at facts and not through rose colored glasses. It is utter chaos. I personally hope car companies do get bailed out. I have never owned a foreign made car. But if we bail them out, that means airlines next and so on. That will come from us or added onto the deficit.
Kendra, sorry. It's late for me and I was being a little sarcastic.
I apologize. I know what you meant. Didn't mean it, really. Forgive me?
Late Night Politics
I don't really think that Leno is conservative. He's a good friend of the Arnold the Governator, but I think that it is more on a personal level than political. Keep in mind, also, that these guys have teams of writers so while they approve the joke, they don't necessarily represent solely their opinion, and anybody who thinks that Leno's humor is conservative, clearly missed the last 8 years of Bush jokes and the Dan Quayle jokes that still pop up.
I had not watched Letterman when he was in the time slot following Carson, but when he first went to CBS, I used to. However, his 'humor' got to be where it just seemed very mean-spirited, and while it had a certain shock value to it and was maybe funny the first time in an adolescent kind of way, it wasn't long before I couldn't stomach it anymore and made the switch to Leno, where I had stayed. Conan has his moments and is probably the least political of the 3, but while not mean-spirited, his humor does sometimes come across as very juvenile, pull-my-finger type stuff (although he does some skits about his Taurus that had me rolling on the floor).
Political humor at the expense of the kids has been around for a while, but fortunately is rarely brought out. If I recall correctly, Chelsea Clinton took some pretty big hits, and there may have even been a few Amy Carter jokes (but that's a little further back than I can trust my memory). If I also recall correctly, Saturday Night Live was where a lot of the early political child barbs came from. I think Bristol Palin has put herself out there in the public eye so I'm not opposed to her getting a few shots, but Letterman's were in exceedingly poor taste. Then again, Letterman has been endorsed by Howard Stern, so I guess the crudeness comes as no surprise.
Excellent post!!!! - sorry I'm a little late saying so.
Just read it. Thanks for the reply.
You're a little late to the party...(sm)
I do believe the dicussion is already over.
These late night political events
are just killing me. I keep staying up to watch and then I stay up later to hear the media discuss everything. Why must this stuff be so addicting? I know I should just go to bed because it will be repeated 1,000 times the next day......but I can't help myself. I'm going to go hook up my coffee IV to keep me awake this morning.
Getting late. Change name line to read
see message in above post.
It's gettin' kinda late, but you got me LMAO.

You're a little late worrying about the reporters...
They were found guilty on June 8.
"US President Barack Obama has said he is "deeply concerned" by North Korea's reported sentencing of two US journalists to 12 years' hard labour.
The US was working through all channels to secure their release, a spokesman for Mr Obama said.
The journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling, were found guilty of "hostile acts" and illegal entry into North Korea, state media reported."

I think BB has a point here in that the main point on the board is political discussion, and let'
face it, there is SO MUCH going on right now, changes, problems, disasters, and so much debate on what should/could be done, but so many tims the political discussion disintegrates in a finger-pointing, name-calling exercise, spouting religion all over the place. Yeah, our spiritual beliefs are dearly held and we would all strive to be the best we can be, and do whatever we can whatever the ideology is, but sometimes I wonder, since we have a board EXPRESSLY for Faith isuues, where relgious debates/discussions/forums, etc are welcome, why does THIS board have to be turned into RELIGION BOARD PART II, especially if one ideology wants to dominate or ridicule/condemn those who come on here for lively inteligent discussion, debate of issues in Congress and in our lives, and just want their beliefs held separately? CNN is not EWTN or any other Christian network, and there are constant informative, bright, lively, balanced discussions from all over the political spectrum on the credentialed news stations, as well as C-Span, but they are not constantly hiding behind a cross, rosary, bible, star of David, or whatever....can we not strive to do the same and put religious debate on the Faith board?? Just a thought to ponder, MHO, it might work beter, who knows?
is the the starting point or the end point for the middle class?

I answered your post point-by-point and
all you can come up with is a lame tit-for-tat? Can you provide some sort of substantive response that would argue against the point I am trying to make here? Of course not.
Please show me what part of my post reflects bigotry or ignorance? I have made a few statements based on my own life experience, rather than the hook-line-and-sinker method of forming my world view. Then the impotence of your suicide bomber reference was buried under concrete evidence of informed, researched and factual data that would suggest an oppressed, occupied, half-starved population does not have the upper hand when it comes to defending themselves against Israel's US-bankrolled arsenal of pain, misery, death and destruction. They are just a tad out-gunned, wouldn't you say?

Then the impotence of your suicide bomber reference was buried under concrete evidence of informed, researched and factual data that would suggest an oppressed, occupied, half-starved population does not exactly have the upper hand when it comes to defending themselves against Israel's US-bankrolled arsenal of pain, misery, death and destruction they employ in order to "secure" themselves.
The Palestinians are just a tad out-gunned, wouldn't you say? This might just account for the lop-sided fatalities/injuries ratios between the Israelis and the Palestinians. In closing, it is worth noting that even with the advantage of all those terrorist toys and tools our tax dollars have bestowed upon them, security and peace of mind just seem to be further and further beyond their reach. Wonder why that is?
Call me what you want, just don't call me late for dinner. LOL....
GP, I like your sense of humor.
If your point is that it was 7 years ago, that's not much of a point is it? sm
Not long ago at all in the scope of things. The point is that the same thing could and probably would happen here. 9-11 happened 7 years ago too....I guess that couldn't happen again, huh?
I get your point, but my main point is -
why should the government be allowed to tell people what they can and can't eat? Everyone says the government is too involved in our business anyway, so if they should stay out of one part of our lives, they should stay out of all parts of our lives!
and your point is??
Your point is?? Bush is the one who waged this immoral illegal wrong war, not all the democrats you have posted quotes on. It is BUSH, the chimp boy, who waged the war and used every kind of excuse possible, flip flopping back and forth over the reasons. Now that we know there are no WMD and we have gotten Saddam, what is the excuse for being there and not setting a time plan to leave?? Of course the reason has always been the murderous foreign policy of the US, to have its bloody hands in every country it possibly can. They are just salivating in DC over the fact that we will have control over the Middle East and OIL. Bush and his group are war criminals, just as bad as Saddam.
the point is
If these brave soldiers did not have to go to Vietnam, a useless, wrong war (it has been PROVEN, DEBATED AND PROVEN AGAIN AND AGAIN, EVEN BY THOSE WHO WERE IN THE MILITARY), their physical and emotional illnesses never would have happened..and there would have been no people turning against them. There were thousands upon thousands of protestors telling Nixon, bring our boys home and a few turning against the soldiers. The war is what scarred and has continued to torture these soldiers..the wrong war of that day just like the wrong war of now, Iraq..And where is the VA to help those of Vietnam? Bush continues to cut the budget for the VA, even though we will have thousands once again home from a useless, immoral, illegal war..I read an article the other day how the soldiers coming home are divorcing quite a bit..another thing these soldiers have to deal with..physical ailments, mental ailments, not adjusting to society, divorce..these were happy job holding family people before Bush got his blood hands on them. Thanks Bush.
You see, that's my whole point...
...the truth of this quote is why it's important. You can't ignore the inherent truth in an observation simply because you don't like the bearer of that message. I believe that if one truly examined history and discarded labels such as socialist, liberal, yes, even conservative (these labels change with time and are not static philosophies) I believe history would show that the the last part of this quote is right on about what it takes to be successful in uniting a country/party against a supposed "foe." Some have said hatred is the biggest uniter of a people that there is.
The point.
While there were quite a few issues in this article that were noteworthy, to me at least, the main point was that the Bush/war supporters are going to have a chance to participate in the war that they love. Since we broke Iraq we have to fix it and we can't afford to and the military can't do it so, in its infinite wisdom, the administration has come up with a "Peace Corps" type scenario where professionals of all vein VOLUNTEER to go to Iraq and work, for free. This is just too good. How many of those on the conservative board do you think will volunteer to go, or their husbands, sons, relatives? And like he said, if you voted for Bush put your money where your magnet is, smack dab in the middle of the Sunni triangle.
We have and have had for a long time alternatives energy resources. You can destroy the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and wherever else you want but in a few years we will be right back here. The oil supply is finite. Get used to it. Time to switch gears and explore the alternatives. But again, I can't wait to see who signs up for volunteer duty...next stop is Vietnam (Oh, I mean Iran, no I mean Iraq...).
Well, to each his own, which is exactly my point.
I can not discount your points here without discounting mine. I can't explain why people sign up, but my guess would be that some need money, jobs and opportunities and are praying if they do go to Iraq they will make it back in one piece. There are obviously a lot of people who believe in the cause of this war, I'm just not one. And like I say, some have fallen hook-line-and-sinker into the justification for this war, or believe it is important to free the Iraqis and somehow this is going to protect America.
I say again, to each his own. May God be with them all!
That is not the point! sm
The point is, expect the unexpected. Don't get all hyper about guns. I should never have mentioned that here, I am sure. I was making a point where has, yet again, been twisted! Good grief!
There is no point to THAT. SM
Everyone knows that paper is and always has been anti-Bush. I'm sorry, but you guys won't take stuff from NewsMax and FrontPageMag, which are both WAY WAY BIGGER than this little rag. Don't expect me to take this seriously.
It's my point.nm
x
And your point is
It's all Bush's fault, by the way. It's the evil Republican's fault, but especially Bush. It's ALL his fault. It's America's fault, too! IMPEACH AMERICA. You are my hero.
But, at what point...
do you just toss your arms up in the air and give up on teaching people how to use birth control. It's not rocket science. How many decades of teaching do we need? I think we already have a cornucopia of information available everywhere on how to use birth control. It's not like it's a taboo subject. I have to think that the computer saavy youth of today, who can jump through hoops on the internet, if interested, could find out with the click of a button just exactly how to use any given birth control. We can fund education to the hilt, but stupid careless people will always be stupid careless people. It's sad.
You got a point there...nm
I know all I need to. I see no point in this.
