Can we get the political board back to the true purpose of this board – to share opinions of why we like our candidate.  Not bash and cut down others because they don’t agree with you.

I stayed away from this board for the past couple days because anyone who had anything positive to say about Sarah Palin got slammed, bashed, kicked down, etc.  After awhile I found it all too draining, and was not seeing any reason to come.  Yes, I did see some of it towards people who favored Barack Obama, but if you read the posts again it is mostly towards anyone who favored Sarah Palin/John McCain.

I thought the political board was for posting information regarding politics and candidates.  What I have seen for the past few days is that it has been an attack board.  Especially if you have anything positive you want to share about Sarah Palin.  You say something good about her and you get attacked, you answer back, and you get attacked more, and then when you get mad and pretty much say stop attacking me, they come back with this “Geez, I’m allowed to have an opinion”.

Another thing I am tired of seeing is the slanderous, hate filled, really off the wall comments about Sarah Palin.  The latest was something about her daughter actually had her baby.  Talk about just bizarre comments.  I thought what’s next, she’s an alien from another planet?  The more I kept reading the more the comments were getting just really weird and bizarre.  Of course nobody ever having any proof of any of these allegations.  I then came to realize that the posters were just trying to get a fight going.

I also saw posts that had nothing to do with politics but attacking a poster named Sam.  Again, probably trying to get another fight going for no good reason and on things that have nothing to do whatsoever with politics.  I’ve read “Sam is like an annoying nat that you sway away”, “Sam, please let me know where you work” or “she must have her quota” or “sam is to the politics board as oracle is to the”  This childish rhetoric is getting old.  I’m not defending sam she is a big girl and I can see by her posts she can take care of herself, but my point is that this has nothing to do with politics.  If you want a fight maybe you could request that the administrator create a separate “fight and degrade” section.

I’ve read the administrators post a couple different times called Beware of Flaming.  She/he said as long as we realize that not everyone is going to agree we shouldn’t wear our feelings on our sleeves and a little more oversight on here would be good.  Let people express his or her opinion and move on.  If you don’t like someone just ignore that person. “It’s not rocket science, you know” (I liked that statement)

I consider posting on this board a privilege and not a right.  If you don’t agree with something and you post that you don’t agree and state the facts why (and are civilized about it) that’s one thing, but when you bash and degrade others without showing proof and just want to start fights and belittle others it just seems a bit juvenile to me.

I come to the politics board to hear ideas and stuff (facts) about the candidates.  That is how I’m learning about each one, but I don’t want to read people attack other posters for no good reason.  I'd like to hear about Obama/Biden & McCain/Palin, but I want to hear facts.

If you like to fight so much why don’t you pick on people that you can fight to face to face. 

Lately, all I've been seeing (again) is fighting over who is right or wrong and our freedoms being taken away.  Doesn't anyone care to comment on news anymore or am I on the wrong board. I didn't think this was the gab board.

What about ACORN? Has anyone kept up with what is going on? Glen Beck has had a bunch of ACORN people on in the past 2 weeks and I haven't seen a single comment about it. O'Reilly also had 2 ACORN associates on last night and O'Reilly asked if they would open their books and, of course, the answer was "no."  ACORN is being investigated in quite a few states, including ours, but haven't seen a single post on this. Whatever JTBB thinks of Fox News, at least they are trying to get down to the bottom of where the money came from for O's campaign, who handled the money, and where it went.

What about the nominee for the court? I have not seen a comment about that, either. What about her? Is she going to be sworn in and is she biased as some say?

(This one I hate to post but because of all the comments below but...) What about the voters of CA voting against gay marriage and now it's supposedly going to the Supreme Court? That's ridiculous. Since when is the Supreme Court allowed to overturn the voter's wishes? Can you imagine someone winning an election and a group sues and takes it to the courts and they overturn the election? Think about it.

O keeps stating things are getting better, but I'd like to see where. In my state, our county unemployment rate is now up to 9.8%. What about the so-called jobs that were created and, BTW, are temporary jobs, not considered "forever" jobs.

What about KOREA thumbing his nose at the world? Doesn't anyone care that this nut is threatening war against us? Doesn't anyone care that our troops are on high alert? Doesn't anyone care that he's playing with nuclear bombs and missles that could hit us some day?

I haven't seen a single post on the above. That, IMHO, is politics.

all the time?  I don't need to grow any skin, thank you.  If people are just simply NICE and treat me with respect, they receive the same in turn.  It's called the golden rule.  Liberals on this board follow the golden rule.  It's the conservatives who must constantly attack, and frankly, it's tiresome.  You add nothing of value to this board.  NOTHING.

we all get frustrated on here from time to time.  As far as Obama picking pubs for positions, there's the sec of defense, Robert Gates, and Lahood for transportation, and I think a few others.  Someone said something about the pubs being picked are just token pubs, but I think if he is just going for token picks, it wouldn't be for sec of defense.  I think this pick said a lot about Obama and his intentions.

I really do hope that he does listen to pubs as well as dems.  As a poster mentioned earlier, there are good ideas in both parties.  I'm not trying to paint a rosy picture here, but we really need to find some kind of common ground, and I think (whether successful or not) Obama is trying to create that kind of environment.

BTW, I like Rachel Maddow much better too.  She isn't as blatant as Olberman, but she is a little sarcastic.  LOL.  I picked Olberman's video because it showed Obama going to the dinner as I was counting on someone to say that it didn't happen because it wasn't in conservative news.  While I do think Olberman is funny at times, I mostly just go with the quotes and video he presents and kind of tune the commentary out.

I'm so tired of trying to make a living but betwen the state and federal government taking it all away when we get finally get near the top of things I really, really get nasty sometimes. My grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be paying for what we could not stop; i.e., stimuls, TARP, and everything else coming down the pike, and I don't think any of it is right. I feel our country is down the tubes and there is no getting out of it. I hope I am wrong, but between the state and federal government and what they are creating, they will take, or try to take, everything we all worked hard to achieve.  Big Brother has come to the USA even if it did take more than 25 years. You all know this country is going down but what, really, is anyone doing to stop it? Not much, because we are not a unified body, and unless we do band together and try, we are doomed. JMHO

When George W. Bush and the Christian Reich took control of the most powerful country in the world, The United States of America, a very dangerous virus began spreading throughout the country.

The virus: Christian Fascism.

This lethal threat to democracy is now infecting the world, ie...the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

To understand the Right Wing Zealots, it is important to acquire an understanding of what it means to be a religious addict. The following identifies important signs of religious addiction:

Religious Addiction preys on the Weak and Vulnerable

After reading and processing the above characteristics of a religious addict, it is very to easy to find incidents of religious addictions since George W. Bush took power:

A while ago, I was watching the news stories about the Ten Commandments Monument being removed from a Government building in the United States. As I watched the protests, I thought how twisted right wing Christian zealots are; the way they whined and moaned lying on the ground reminded me of a religious addicted cult. There is so much hate and mental defects within the Christian Coalition. It is scary.

It is important for all countries to separate government from Organized Religion. Christian Right Wing Organized Religion is a very dangerous political institution. They have decided how people should live and those choosing a different way of life are viewed as deviant or enemies.

When looking at two men, George W. Bush and Mel Gibson, it is easy to see how dangerous Religious addiction can be to the rest of the population. Both these men are recovered drug addicts and drunks. What lead to their recovery was replacing their chemical addictions with Christian addiction. Like a cult, Christian Extremists target people when they are at their weakest; both men have weak minds which made them easy prey. They should not be respected, but looked at as very weak little creatures.

As President of the United States, the mentally feeble man, George W. Bush, has been given the power to flex his religious addicted muscles: supported challenging affirmative action, proposal to ban gay marriage, increase funding to religious groups that help alcoholics and drug addicts recover, invading and taking over Iraq, funding the promotion marriage (push women in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant, eh Georgie?)

The Christian Right seeks to oppress those who don't conform to their way of life. In order for society to evolve, Right Wing Religion must be kept out of positions of political power.

Religious addicted Mel Gibson is now a right wing fundamentalist. He believes he knows God personally, and has a whole lot of money, giving him the power to push his beliefs on the rest of us. There is nothing more dangerous than a rich right wing fundamentalist. About Mel Gibson's movie, The Passion of the Christ, Movie Reviewers and News Commentators did not have the courage to give Mel Gibson's movie a real review. It is probably like during the invasion of Iraq; people who spoke against it were intimidated, and the media was very biased toward the bullies.

Religious addiction is a serious mental illness in our society. Religious addicts, when given power, have the ability to do some serious damage to the world and its species.

Well, doesn't look like you are trying all that hard. Or is that another example of Conservative honesty, like your buddy on the other board lies 3 times before suddenly deciding to be *up front* (in her own words) about the whole bogus line of crap she was spouting.

You and your 2 friends don't respect anyone unless they're a member of your little club, think exactly as you think, belong to the same political party as you belong, and believe in the very same little narrow SUBsection of one particular religion.

That's what I interpret from YOUR WRITTEN WORDS.  Your posts don't show respect.  They only show twisted *facts*, ignorance, anger and hatred.
