And Michelle Obama has made it clear

that her children come first. From what I've personally seen, I can't imagine those parents allowing ANYTHING or ANYONE to harm their children and that all they want for their children are bright, healthy, prosperous futures -- just like all American parents do.
Yet, some people on this board even want to suggest that getting these girls a PUPPY is something evil with questionable motive. It's just unbelievable!

Obama made it very clear to Joe the Plumber....
Were you listening? He explained it very clearly. He was going to tax Joe at a higher rate and give that money to people "below Joe" so "they would have a chance too." That is NOT American, that is socialism. Out of Obama's own mouth. The man is a socialist, and because you refuse to see it or see it and don't care, it does not make it less true.
To use your words...run and hide if you like.
Yes, O made it clear he is not president
until January 20. Bush and his team are still in office and running the show until then. Which I already new about too.
I think I made it pretty clear.......sm
I have first-hand knowledge of a letter sent to my pastor stating that the church's tax-exempt status would be revoked if he chose to speak of politics in the pulpit. I don't know how much more proof you need. Folks don't seem to need that much proof in believing Obama's BC is real.
The even more burning question is how would "they" find out if he did preach on politics from the pulpit? Not that he would because he is not prone in that direction, but exactly who is checking out churches to make sure they mind their own business??????
Now you've made yourself clear
Context is only necessary for interpreting your bible; the same courtesy is not extended to the Qur'an.
I guess that makes pretty clear the futility of attempting any type of a reasonable debate with you.
Now you just made a beauty queen out of Michelle,
Why?
Isn't that unrealistic?
Inner beauty can also fade, nothing is forever.
The purpose was made crystal clear in the post.
It was very clear. Don't know how to make it any clearer.
Hey me...the comment Michelle made wasn't in her speech....
sorry, I should have clarified that. She was on a campaign-type event...I saw this on TV. She was sitting around this table with looked like 3 or 4 ladies and it actually just looked kind of like chatting. There was a cameraperson there because it was a campaign thing. Anyway...I don't know what led up to Michelle's comment but they have it on tape where she said Barack got upset because of the $10,000 bill and she said she told him "You know how much camp costs?" Don't get me wrong, I don't think she was putting on airs like 'I'm so rich I send my kids to $10,000 camps.' That's not what I meant. She wasn't thinking about how it would sound to the people she was with, because that is her life now. She sends her kids to $10,000 camps.
That being said, I don't begrudge them their money. They both worked their way up from being average income to among the higer incomes in the country through education and hard work. The great American dream, and I certainly have NO problem with that.
I will give bill a listen tonight. I expect him to endorse Obama, but you never can tell what the man might say. Google what he said this week about "You have candidate X, who you agree with on everything, but you don't think he can deliver; then you have candidate Y, who you agree with on half of the things, but you think he CAN deliver...that is a choice some people will have." And then he added, "but that has nothing to do with this election." Yeah right. LOL. I don't think it was a mistake, I think he meant exactly what he said. lol.
Let me make this clear AGAIN! Posts on the political forums WILL be made with RESPECT
If your posts are not respectful and made with tact, I will delete them and your posting privileges. Keep in mind that posting on the MTStars website is a privilege, it is not a right. Have your opinions, but do not post them in a demeaning, crass, rude, ugly, disrespectful manner. I have been accused of censoring the political forums, when what it really comes down to is the fact that I only expect visitors to post with RESPECT. here's what Michelle Obama says about the WHOLE PIE - please sm
This is what Michelle Obama had to say about the 'redistribution of wealth' (in keeping with the Global Poverty Act):
"The truth is most Americans don't want much. Folks don't want the whole pie. Most Americans feel blessed to thrive a little bit, but that's out of reach for them. The truth is, in order to get things like unviersal health care and a revamped education system, then SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE UP A PIECE OF THEIR PIE SO THAT SOMEONE ELSE CAN HAVE MORE."
And to accomplish this, she says:
"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is gong to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your division, that you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones, that you push yourselves to be better, and that you engage. BARACK WILL NEVER ALLOW YOU TO GO BACK AND LIVE YOUR LIVES AS USUAL, uninvolved, uniformed."
I'm sorry, but that thinking is more in line with the totalitarian governments of China, North Korea and Cuba. Last I looked, I was still living in America. I have the Constitutional right to succeed or fail according to my own abilities, and I staunchly support everyone else's right to do the same. (You know, that little something called 'the pursuit of happiness?)
But I don't want big government deciding I have 'enough' and handing it off to someone in another country who may not have their 'fair share.' I already pay taxes, tithe 10% to charities, volunteer at my local food bank, and shovel the sidewalk of the elderly couple next door. I think most Americans are doing this kind of stuff day in and day. Because WE CARE about one another.
If more of my money is being shipped overseas, how am I to help my own next door neighbor?
Michelle Obama
When you said that Michelle Obama "doesn't talk like a black woman," - how exactly do black women talk? When you said that, it is so clear that you are racist. I am sure you will have one heck of an explanation about what you meant, but I would rather hear how you think black women talk.
I see Michelle Obama
as an arrogant bitter black woman with a chip on her shoulder. There is no beauty that I see. Her kids are cute though.
Who cares what Michelle Obama wants....
She was not even proud to be American majority of her life.
I think Obama and Michelle are racist!
.
I think Michelle/Obama are racist
And the McCain/Palin ticket have not/still continue to show racism?? The bottom line of all of the nasty hateful comments that I have seen on this board is that if Barack Obama did not run for the President of this country, the majority of you whould't give a flying bobcat WHO he is. The number of hateful, bigoted, mean nasty comments I have seen on this board are more than enough to know that in 2008, hate, bigotry and racism have never died; it is displayed in subtle insidious ways - to any of those who care, it has been ONLY a little over TEN years since a black man was tied to the back of a pick up truck in Texas and dragged around so much he was dismembered..it is situations such as those which break my heart - a human being. I will never understand it; and in this election the racism is extremely blatant. Not to mention the blatantly racist exhibition two white men decided to make money from - check You Tube under "Obama waffles" - look at how he is caricatured and then ask yourself WHAT is racist...
same here....I wonder what Michelle Obama thinks
she knows Biden does not care for her husband and has actually said he is not the man for the job of President. Boy, that must be a tense/false/forced smile when they get together.
Michelle Obama said don't believe the polls.
She said its too close to call right now.
Also there are over 11% who are still undecided.
What did you think about Michelle Obama's dress?
Just wondering
Obama issues clear laid out at DNC.
Especially silent on that family values, sex education, abstinence taboo brick wall they are trying to throw up.
Kaydie's Michelle Obama comment
I am still waiting for your answer. When you claimed you weren't a racist, yet in your next paragraph you said "Michelle Obama does not talk like a black woman," what do black women talk like?
Michelle Bachmann blaming Obama
//
Well...Michelle Obama works full time now...
as does her husband, and their children look beautiful, healthy and well adjusted.
Actually, I believe just the opposite. I believe being governor, actually running a state, is much more of a day-to-day demanding position. Still, she is home most every night. As VP, she will be home most every night. Michelle Obama works full time too, but she is home most every night. As First Lady, Michelle will be required to travel as well...Laura Bush has traveled quite a bit as first lady.
I believe Sarah Palin can handle it and not deprive her children. I also believe that Michelle Obama could handle it just fine and not deprive her chldren. They are both strong women who have a wonderful support system and love their husbands and families...which I don't think precludes them having a career...either as and administrator like michelle obama, or as first lady; and Sarah Palin as governor or VP.
And I think a majority of women in the country would agree with that as well.
You must accept Michelle Obama's racist bent, then...
in the way she has spoken out, especially during the campaign months, correct?
Thanks for sharing your story. It was very moving. But I meant your bullying attitude towards other posters, when they don't engage you.
Ann Coulter Slams Michelle Obama In New Book
More details of Ann Coulter's next book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America are out revealing how Coulter slams Michelle Obama for her style while applauding that of Cindy McCain. The Daily News reports:
Coulter wrote, "Her obvious imitation of Jackie O's style - the flipped-under hair, the sleeveless A-line dresses, the short strands of fake pearls - would have been laughable if done by anyone other than a media-designated saint."
Coulter said Cindy McCain, the wife of vanquished GOP nominee John McCain, "dressed well without freakishly imitating famous First Ladies in history."
Coulter facetiously and snidely refers to Michelle Obama as a "saint" and "Mother Teresa" and suggests that her public service career "advanced in lockstep with the political advancement of her husband."
A previous excerpt from November revealed that Coulter refers to President-Elect Obama as "B. Hussein Obama" and mocks the media's love affair for him.
The book goes on sale Tuesday January 6.
No word if her jaw is still wired shut.
Wish her jaw/mouth would be permanently wired shut.
Michelle Obama shunning poor patients!!
Tons of info on this........ for those that care more about this country than the Obama fest...........

Yeah, and didn't Michelle just tell us to judge Obama on his actions? sm
They finally let her out of her box onto the Larry King show, and that's one of the things she said.
I don't like his actions, one little bit.
He's bamboozled millions of people.
Michelle Obama's Official White House Portrait
See below.
Does it bother you that Michelle Obama wears sleeveless dresses?
It doesn't me. I didn't see the purple dress they're talking about, either. I'm not sure what all the ruckus is about.
The whole article is about the new White House informality; here's the part about Michelle.
Then came the tut-tutting from Democrats and Republicans alike over first lady Michelle Obama's sleeveless purple frock.
Hip 26-year-old designer Jason Wu, who fashioned FLOTUS' white, off-the-shoulder inaugural gown, called her "the ultimate muse." But some were murmuring that the first lady revealed not merely bare arms beneath the dome of the nation's shrine to democracy but an unseemly lack of reverence.
"It was an unusual choice," a Democratic Capitol Hill staffer confessed to a male reporter oblivious to the nuances of Capitol garb.
ABC News' Cokie Roberts, author of "Ladies of Liberty: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation," said she fielded an e-mail from a staunch feminist fan of the first lady's who nevertheless added, "but enough with the sleeveless dresses."
It does raise some hackles. I'm a little curious about it because it's cold in the House gallery," Roberts said. "I suppose that the sense of sleeveless dress being somewhat inappropriate comes from churches. ... There does seem to be some sense of decorum having to do with covering your shoulders."

Looks as if Obama made it worse.
If Obama is the hero for rescuing the Captain, what will happen now if pirates get a hold of more US ships?
(CNN) -- Two pirates in Somalia vowed revenge Monday, after the U.S. military killed three pirates and freed a U.S. ship captain who had been held hostage for several days.

Crew members of the Maersk Alabama celebrate after hearing the Navy had rescued their captain from pirates.
The pirates told a Somali journalist that they were angered by the U.S. action, as well as a French raid Friday that killed two pirates and one hostage and freed four hostages.
"We have decided to kill U.S. and French sailors if they happen to be among our future hostages," said Abdullahi Ahmed, a member of a pirate group based at Harardhere, a coastal town in central Somalia.
Members of the U.S. Navy shot and killed three pirates who had been holding Capt. Richard Phillips hostage in a lifeboat on Sunday evening, a military official said. The pirates seized Phillips after a failed attempt to hijack his ship, the Maersk Alabama.
For five days the pirates held Phillips in the lifeboat as U.S. Navy ships closed in and lingered nearby.
On Sunday, U.S. Navy snipers opened fire on the lifeboat after seeing one pirate point an AK-47 at the captain's back, the U.S. military said. The shootings occurred as one pirate was aboard the USS Bainbridge negotiating over Phillips' fate. Video Watch how SEALs shot three pirates »

Pirates in Somalia identified the slain men as Mohamed Ahmed Adawe, Nur Dalabey and Khalif Guled. Two of them -- Dalabey and Guled -- were among the "most experienced men" in a group that has hijacked seagoing vessels for money, Ahmed said.
They were killed two days after the French military freed four hostages, including a child, who had been held by pirates for nearly a week on a yacht off Somalia's coast. In that operation, a hostage and two pirates were killed, the French Defense Ministry said, while three pirates were captured. Video Watch how pirates roam a vast area of ocean »
The military actions angered Ali Nur, a pirate who is based in Gara'ad, a coastal village in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, in northern Somalia.
"From now on, after the killings by the U.S. and France, we will add some harsher steps in our dealings with hostages, particularly American and French hostages," Nur told a journalist.
The U.S. military acknowledged Sunday that its actions to rescue Phillips could increase the risk of violence.
"This could escalate violence in this part of the world. No question about it," U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Bill Gortney told reporters.

Nur issued a warning to the United States.
"The killing of our boys was aggression, and the U.S. will see what they get from their operation," he said.
Well...no, I didn't see any of the gaffes Obama made on...
Fox or Rush Limbaugh so you are "sure" wrong about that. Actually, on CNN...HARDLY a conservative outlet.
Some of Obama's "misstatements:"
Obama Gaffes on Iraq and Afghanistan
Email
Share May 13, 2008 8:27 PM
ABC News' David Wright and Sunlen Miller Report: Sporting a shiny new American flag pin at an appearance in Rush Limbaugh's hometown, Sen. Barack Obama came up with some novel reasons why the U.S. may be struggling in the war in Afghanistan.
"We don't have enough capacity right now to deal with it -- and it's not just the troops," Obama, D-Ill., told a crowd in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Obama posited -- incorrectly -- that Arabic translators deployed in Iraq are needed in Afghanistan -- forgetting, momentarily, that Afghans don't speak Arabic.
"We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then its harder for us to use them in Afghanistan," Obama said.
The vast majority of military translators in both war zones are drawn from the local population.
Naturally they speak the local language. In Iraq, that's Arabic or Kurdish. In Afghanistan, it's any of a half dozen other languages -- including Pashtu, Dari, and Farsi.
No sooner did Obama realize his mistake -- and correct himself -- but he immediately made another.
"We need agricultural specialists in Afghanistan, people who can help them develop other crops than heroin poppies, because the drug trade in Afghanistan is what is driving and financing these terrorist networks. So we need agricultural specialists," he said.
So far, so good.
"But if we are sending them to Baghdad, they're not in Afghanistan," Obama said.
Iraq has many problems, but encouraging farmers to grow food instead of opium poppies isn't one of them. In Iraq, oil fields not poppy fields are a major source of U.S. technical assistance.
My comment: Ahem. Different countries mixed up did you say about McCain? Looks like Mr. Obama has that same problem.
In June 2008, Obama Misstated The Name Of Brownsville, TX:
Obama: "So if you've got a wall that's cutting the campus of the University of Texas in Brownville in half…" (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks At The NALEO Conference, Washington, DC, 6/28/08)
In June 2008, Obama Falsely Claimed His Father Served In World War II:
Obama: "My father served in World War II, and when he came home, he got the services that he needed." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks At The NALEO Conference, Washington, DC, 6/28/08)
On May 23, Obama Mistakenly Says He's In "Sunshine" At Rally In Sunrise, Florida
Obama: "How's it going Sunshine? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you everybody. It's good to be in Sunshine!" (Barack Obama, Campaign Rally, Sunrise, FL, 5/23/08)
South Florida Sun-Sentinel: "It Wasn't Clear If Barack Obama Knew Exactly Where He Was Friday Afternoon …" "It wasn't clear if Barack Obama knew exactly where he was Friday afternoon when he spoke at his mass rally at the BankAtlantic Center. He repeatedly used the term 'Sunshine' as a place name rather than 'Sunrise,' the city where the arena is located, including, 'How's it going Sunshine? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you everybody. It's good to be in Sunshine.'" ("Did Obama Know Where He Was For Sunrise Rally?" South Florida Sun-Sentinel Blog, 5/24/08)
On May 16, Obama Mistakenly Says He's In Sioux City At Sioux Falls, SD Rally. Obama: "Illinois Sen. Barack Obama started his speech tonight with a gaffe. 'Thank you Sioux City,' he said, before realizing his mistake." ("Obama Starts Speech With Gaffe," Sioux Falls Argus Leader, 5/16/08)
My Comment: If you are correct and what you say reflects your intellect, then one would think Obama doesn't even know where he is half the time....?
"I think that DOMA, the Defense Against Marriage Act, was, was a (sic) unnecessary imposition on what had been the traditional rules governing marriage and how states interact on the issues of marriage." – Barack Obama, referring to the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA), 7/1/08
Obama Called Rapid City Grand Rapids. Obama: "We were in Grand Rapids with a—or Grand? – Rapid City. See I've been talking to long." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks At A Campaign Event, Aberdeen, SC, 5/31/08)
On May 9, Obama Claimed To Have Visited 57 States. Obama: "Because, you know, it is just wonderful to be back in Oregon, and over the last 15 months we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states, I think, one left to go. One left to go, Alaska and Hawaii I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks At A Campaign Event, Beaverton, OR, 5/9/08)
On May 5, Obama Called Matt Lauer "Tim" Three Times In One Interview, Had To Be Corrected By Lauer. Obama: "Well, I think what it is, Tim, is, you know, that no person is defined by a few snippets taken over the course of a number of years …Well, Tim, I think that all of us have people in our lives who may have done some good things, and then we also see them doing some things that are disappointing. … Well, Tim, first of all, it's not me who's criticized these proposals." … NBC's Matt Lauer: "I just want to say, I know you've had a very long week, and so have I. You're saying Tim. I know, it's Matt Lauer. But believe me, I completely understand." Obama: "Matt, I'm sorry." Lauer: "We've both had a long week, Senator, believe me." (NBC's "Today," 5/5/08)
My final comment: These are not all the gaffes. There are many more. Just like you could post a bunch McCain has made and every other politician who ever ran...again, it has nothing to do with their minds. People misspeak, especially people who are called upon to speak as much as Presidential candidates. But if you can manage to be fair about this...if you think McCain is weak-minded because he misspeaks, then you should say the same thing about Obama...because he misspeaks just as often. And, no offense, if people would get away from the hard left (or right) blogs and quoting hard left (or right) media and look up things for themselves...they would see that most of the things said about EITHER candidate can usually be found about the other one as well with a little research. But, of course, you have to want to know the TRUTH, whatever it is...to research BOTH sides....and, bottom line...when people misspeak, it does not indicate they have a "mind" problem...but if it DID, Obama seems to be similarly "afflicted."
And a little tidbit about Fox News....they have as many dem Fox New contributors as Repub...Howard Wolfson, Bob Beckel to name two...and many more whose names I can't remember. When they have a Repub pundit, they always have a Dem pundit with him/her. That is more than I can say for most media outlets. And for the record, I am neither Dem nor Repub...Independent.
Obama made the same statement long before
xx
All the promises made by President Obama.
President Barrack Obama has made a huge list of promises. As you can see, some promises he has already broken and we aren't even into his presidency a whole week yet.
Foreign Policy
Domestic Policy
Yes, that speech made Obama look like a robot.
nm
Well, Obama just made an obvious oops!!!
Obama says his tax cuts will help those in poverty get out of poverty........ how so? Those making "poverty" wages DON'T pay taxes.............. like so very many that put him in office. I'm so sick of listening to him give lip service, all the time knowing he's pulling good ones over on the more ignorant of our country!
For those buying homes, if they couldn't afford $8000.00 dollars in the first place, why in the heck are they even being given loans to buy a home with an $8K credit? And please, for those that think this is wonderful, don't even bother to try to glorify this. This is nothing more than giving people who shouldn't have homes in the first place ANOTHER avenue to get a home..... then when they can't pay the actual mortgage, the ones who do pay their mortages will be BAILING THEM OUT AGAIN!!
If you're needing that small amount of money (and yes it is a small amount considering the big picture), you shouldn't be buying a house because you should be able to have saved the down payment in the first place.......... Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth.
McCain was talking about how many trips Obama had made to...
Iraq...constantly talking about Iraq and what was going on there and never having been there, though many other senators had. Anyone paying attention knows that. Obama's little trip to Germany was part and parcel of his "I am a citizen of the world" hoohah. Had nothing to do with what McCain said. And yes, he finally DID go to Iraq, and well he SHOULD. And he knows that the surge worked, but he would die before he admitted it. That is what I HATE about politics. Politicians (none of them) ever say what they think or they feel...only what they think you want to hear. I hate the pandering and dishonesty, on both sides. It reeks.
Obama has never made an appointment to the supreme court
You need to be contacting your republican representatives.
Sorry, CJ...it is not as clear to me as it is to you..
that John McCain wants to continue fighting anywhere. What John McCain understands is that you cannot reason with some people (including terrorists) because they have no interest in getting along. That is not their agenda. They want us dead and our way of life dead. That is not going to change by sitting down and talking to them.
Seriously, I believe that all the things that enable a person to endure such torture over an extended period of time builds character and traits that are essential to leadership. So if you put 5 years in a prison camp up next to 4 years as a senator (2 of those at state level) where you voted present when you voted...then yes. I think 5 years in a prison camp plus serving as a military officer and commanding hundreds of soldiers makes him more qualified than Obama on the face of it...at the very least, AS qualified. And, at the very least, it demonstrates to me that John McCain puts his country first, even before himself. And to me, friend, that speaks volumes.
Obviously I was not clear enough either...
you could always ask where someone stands on a ban on gay marriage without asking how they VOTED on an issue.
I have not seen that many people on this board who were really invested in gay marriage.
If you're not gay and you don't live there...not sure why it matters to you so much? What anyone thinks?
Oh no, you have been quite clear,
and throughout this discussion you have been very cordial (I do apologize for the momentary snapishness in my last post.) Nor in your most recent post did you sink to the level of saying 'I will type slower - or use smaller words - so you can understand.' However, when someone tells me that my argument lacks merit because I do not truly understand the problem or have not thought the implications through, it brings out a bit of bitchiness in me. It is the same reaction I have when I read posts on this board saying that those who listen to Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc., are being manipulated and not thinking for ourselves. (I actually consider myself a conservative, strangely enough.)
I think you do see and maybe even understand my point, as I see and feel I get where you are coming from. We see, but will have to agree to disagree.
I do not pretend that legalizing marijuana will make the world a better place, only that it will make our laws more consistent. The legality of alcohol and tobacco while marijuana remains illegal is very inconsistent. And I think the bottle no longer contains that particular genie (if it ever did). The criminalization of such behavior creates small criminals and enriches bigger criminals.
You say 'I wish no one took any mind-altering substances of any kind.' Does this mean you are a teetotaler and not somebody who enjoys a brewski on a summer day after mowing the lawn, maybe a glass of wine with dinner, as I do?
I think kids hear their government, teachers and parents painting marijuana as the 'demon killer weed' which opens the floodgates to all other substance abuse. Smoke a joint, die with a needle in your arm. Then they watch those same adults drink legal alcohol, smoke legal cigarettes, overuse prescription drugs and they see the entire thing as yet another example of extreme phoniness.
Maybe some people will try legalized marijuana who never did when it was illegal. Maybe, deprived of its mystique and the element of rebellion, fewer kids will need to act out in that particular way. If alcohol were illegal for everyone and their parents were committing a criminal act just to obtain it (which you know they would do) would fewer or more teenagers use it? If a kid walking into a 'speakeasy' were no more or less illegal than his parents doing it, what would be the result? Interesting question.
And now I am going to offer you something a woman seldom does - the last word. The final post can be yours. I've said my piece.
So clear this up for me
The man who rapes and kills a young child, but truly believes in Jesus, acknowledges that what he did was wrong and a violation of both God's law and man's law...this man gets into heaven. The Jewish man, who spent his life working hard, raising his family to be wonderful human beings, donated regularly to the American Heart Association, and volunteered his time in an inner city school in a literacy program...he is doomed?
And I refer to myself as a heathen because I believe that it is my character and the life I have lived here that will determine my entrance to heaven, not my belief in Jesus's death and resurrection. Of course, maybe I'm just pragmatic. Just in case the Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, or even the Native Americans have it right, I'd like to think I've still got a chance at getting past St. Peter or whoever their respective gatekepper is.

If it is all clear cut that
Pelosi told the truth and the CIA is, in fact, lying....why not just let the investigation go on so the dems could tell the GOP to stick it and prove once and for all who was involved and who is lying, etc. If Pelosi is telling the truth, which I highly doubt, there should be no reason to avoid an investigation.
How about Michelle!!
She was great last night at the convention!! I will be tuning in for the remainder of the convention. I am so excited about this race!! It is time for change!!
Michelle
Not only do I believe Michelle is racist but I believe her husband is as well. If you listen to him it's there even if you have to read between the lines. My personal feeling is that it would be easier to deal with that than with McCain/Palin. I will be the first to admit that I may be making a mistake because I do not want to see either of them in office. Unfortunately, the Republicans on here will not even debate the issues they are so dead set for McCain/Palin. The fact that some may say she is lacking in experience, which she is, doesn't bother me. We might even be better off with an outsider who had no political experience whatsoever but a large dose of common sense which Washington seems to be extremely short on.. Experience is not my problem with Palin. She comes across to me as a simpering airhead. What kind of common sense did McCain show when he picked her after having only met her one time and talked to her on the phone once. Because he thought she would attract Hillary's woman voters. Looks like he may have been right too.
And so he should....and Michelle should...
remiburse the tax coffers for her little private C130 ride from Paris to London for shopping. Won't hold my breath waiting on that check. It is somehow worse that he was using to meet his mistress than she was using it to go shopping?? BOTH WRONG.
Oh, I red you loud and clear
and "red" was not a spelling error. Strong arming anyone into producing anything for the government is like pre and post WWII Soviet Union....you got it right when you said red and I'm not referring red state conservatives either.
Many (not all) think you have all the answers, but when it turns to action you are ready to guilt and strong arm SOMEONE ELSE to do the work.
Yep...clear....said talking to me was
like talking to your mother who had a personality disorder. Bashing me and using your mother's illness to do it. Not many ways you can take it. YOU said it. YOU brought it up. This is YOUR can of worms.
I would like to clear up perhaps some confusion.....
About "socialized" medicine. What most of you may not know is that we already have socialized medicine. That is what Medicade and Medicare is (which is financially driven by insurance companies for insurance companies tell the government what they will pay. In essense, the insurance companies are setting the bar). Most countries have some sort of socialized medicine. Canada has what is referred to as single-pay medicine, which is soley funded by the government. Those opposed to single-pay medicine here in the US are the ones stating that it does not work. However, those who have it in Canada and Britain for the most part are not complaining. Of course, you can't please everyone.
For every $50,000 in income that you make about $10,000 of your tax dollars (equal to what is allocated for defense) is going toward healthcare. Add that along with roughly the $10,000 dollars that most companies pay for your insurance, that's quite a chunk of change. But you say, well the company is paying for it, not me. But that is wrong as well, if the companies whom we work for did not have to provide medical insurance for us, there would be higher wages.
So, for someone like me, a healthy 40 something :o), who spends about $1000 dollars a year in preventative health maintenance, why am I paying $20,000, which I might add that for any catastrophic healthcare issue should occur, I would still be desitute from the financial responsibility of picking up where my insurance company falls short? If this is not an argument for healthcare reform.....
Healthcare in the US is the hands of insurance companies, where I don't believe it should be. So for those of you opposed to socialized or single-pay medicine, you are already paying for it, why not make it function better and pull it out of the hands of the fat-cat insurance companies?
Let me be perfectly clear about what I said.
Since the poster above seems to think he/she can put words in my mouth, I will tell you exactly what I said.
I fully expect all posters to be respectful and not put down the President (current or past) or anyone else for that matter. I don't care if they're Liberal, Conservative, or polka dotted.
On the forum, you will be respectful in posting or you won't be allowed to post.
Think you can handle that? If you can't, don't post. It's just that simple.
Let me make something clear.
I am African American. I have never seen Africa. The human race originated on the continent of Africa. Now, what do you consider yourself? You can call yourself whatever you want. We want to be known as African American.
Let's make this a little more clear as well...
Both Obama and Biden voted to fund the bridge to nowhere and then voted to defund it. Who flipped first? biggg LOL.
Well, Howard Dean was governor of Vermont, right? Little old Vermont? Fewer folks than Alaska. His approval rating wasn't that high. He also ran for Presidential nomination. Only having been a governor of a state with population smaller than Alaska's. He is now the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Apparently Democrats only have problems with smaller population governors if they are Republican. That is a belly LOL.
Oh please...cheating? Have you done any research on how Obama had one of his early rivals for office kicked off the ticket so he would not have to run against her? Now THAT is cheating I can believe in. Because that was cheating in politics, not his personal life.
What McCain did in his personal life does not excuse Barack Obama for what he did in his public life. I don't care what either of them does in his personal life...what I care about is what they have done in their public life. McCain certainly keeps better company than Obama does...talk about "uglies." And they are not in the past.
I think we can retire the bridge to nowhere since Obama and Biden were for it before they were against it also. THEY voted with COngress to defund it, so she turned the money to other infrastructure projects that she felt Alaska needed more. Sounds like good judgment to me.
Don't understand the Wild West comment. "Maverick" was a term applied to cattle who refused to run with the herd.
Actually, you are rehashing the same old stuff and accusing her of rehashing old stuff. Does that mean you need a thesaurus also? Just asking.
The difference is clear.
No one is saying it's all 'we people' have to worry about. But it does give us a glance in to O's morals. Win at all cost. No matter who he has to betray in the process. Doesn't that concern you at all?
And I fail to see your correlation between Obama exploiting a bracelet he was not asked specifically NOT to, and McCain choosing a woman as his running mate. If Clinton had been O's running mate, what would your argument be then?
And I beg you to do a bit more research on exactly what O is proposing to do to the middle class. Just because someone tells you something, it doesn't mean you should believe it without checking the facts, especially from a man running for president.
It reminds me of grade school class president elections. There was always that 'popular kid' who didn't know jack but got everybody to vote for him by promising longer lunch periods and movies on friday and free pop in the lunch room. The difference is, we're not twelve anymore.
