that you show an alarming lack of knowledge or sensitivity about the mentally ill. You seem to assume mental illness is a decision someone consciously makes. I grew up in a VA mental facility, my brother is a psychologist and a former best friend was schizophrenic so I have had a life-long awareness of the organic root of mental illness as a disease state.
You do a huge disservice to folks who have mental illness by implying it is a lifestyle choice and that by mentioning that a family member had an illness that we are bashing them.
