I am strongly Pro-Choice. I was raised a Southern Baptist, but left the denomination in the early 90s, after the church had started to lean to the far right. I am now a member of the Presbyterian Church USA. I have 2 children and have been married for over 20 years.
I am not pro-abortion, don't know anyone who is. My sister worked for years at Planned Parenthood and I have spent a long time working for their cause. I have friends who have chosen to have abortions and friends who have chosen to give birth. I have never been in the position where I had to make that decision. Both of my pregnancies were planned.
I would never presume to tell anyone what choice they should make, but I da*n well want that choice to be there for me, my daughter, my neices, etc.
I am against the death penalty. I don't understand how someone can be anti-choice, but all for the death penalty, makes no sense to me. I also don't understand how this country can let so children starve and go without basic medical care, but we can spend so much time and effort trying to make abortion illegal. I just don't get it. If all of that effort was put into world hunger, I think it would be amazing.
Well, enough rambling. Let's just summarize with I am a Christian and I am pro-choice, and I have no inner conflicts with that. My minister has marched next to me at Pro-Choice rallys.
