And George Bush and Dick Cheney

I think in saying "poor" she means economically poor - see msg
I am agreeing here that there are a lot of "poor black men" in jail because of drugs when the others are not because the laws are not equal - the "poor people" use meth or crank or something else that is made up and those drugs carry a much harsher sentence than using "cocaine" which is the drug the "unpoor people" tend to use.
George Bush HIMSELF makes it so easy to make fun of George Bush!!!! oh where would I start, so litt

And along the same lines....

Along these lines --

I worry also that because he is black, if he becomes president, he will be assassinated.

BTW--I'm voting for O because McCain has not convinced me enough that he is against Bush's decisions.  I've had enough of Bush; therefore, I've had enough of McCain before he even gets started.

sometimes you have to read between the lines, and
Hard for some people to do, I know. But sometimes it's the only way separate fact from fiction.
I read only the first 10 lines...........
we are tired of this stuff.
What you decribe is communism, not socialism. At least keep it short. Whom do you try to convince?
It's too late.
2 days more to go.
A yes for Obama.

I was thinking more on the lines of a

decent steak and baked potatoes if the budget would handle it. If not, they shoulda made hot dogs and baked beans.

We're paying for this, ya know. That's what's so sickening. We down the tubes and they're feasting as if nothing is wrong.

That's along the lines I was thinking, but....(sm)

the right is painting him as going around with a baseball bat taking out old people....ROFL.  Because he's superbad...LOL.

Thanks. Interesting the division lines. sm
Orthodox Jews probably have a greater knowledge and care for history and maybe longer memories.  At any rate, from these articles it does seem there majority do support the Gaza withdrawal. I can only say, I believe they will come to regret that.  But that's only my opinion gleaned from the statements of Hamas.
You have to read between the lines. It's rampant.
.
Oh those O lovers can't read between the lines
right to the slaughter. He has changed his policies several times. He sways with the wind and gets his advisors to revamp "his" policies every time the wind changes direction. Which is why all those that believe those numbers mean anything, are fooling themselves.
You can't 3.5+ trillion dollars worth of government increase by Obama with those small little amounts the O lovers keep reciting on this board. They're making your case and too dumb to know it.

If it's ONLY a few more dollars, how do they think he can pay 3.5 trillion dollars in government increases with that?

Wiping out party lines......... sm
and uniting our bipartisan system into a single united front is just one step closer to a one-world government. I would be very leary of anyone, Republican or Democrat or any other political party, who wants to do this. This country was founded on the believe that government should be of the people and as long as you have 2 or more people, you will have different opinions and needs and values.

Lest you bash me for being negative, let me assure you that I am quite positive that Obama will bring about change, but will that change be in the best interest of ALL Americans or just the ones who voted for him?
Just following in lines of being absolutely nauseating
Since every single day when I get on I see a dem posting how many days left til change of office I too am following their lead and will post how many days until the next president comes in. If people don't like it then don't count down every single days how many days left until this change.

Oh, I hope Obama does a good job, after all I did vote for him in the primaries (I didn't vote in the general election), but I just wanted to show how absolutely nauseating and ignorant of the person who keeps posting how many days left til the change of this office.

I'm looking forward to GW finally being gone, but I am getting a bit nauseated (do you understand yet how sick I am of it) at the absolute ignorance and arrogance with people doing a countdown - hence, my countdown too. I'm very open-minded, hope all goes well and there are a lot of people in government I would love to see in office (always keep an open mind). I am always looking forward to the future.

As you said - just my two cents.
we're kind of along the same lines, but not on everything
As for her being a guest on the show, they knew full well exactly what she is like before they accepted her as a guest. There are a lot of people in the country who like her even if you and I don't. As for Andrew Dice Clay? All I have to say is if the View thinks him important enough to invite on the show, then yes I think it would be fine. If I didn't want to hear what he had to say then I would just change the channel and not watch the show that day (although I don't watch the show at all).

First, I said your post was a bit Nazi-ism because that is the way it came off with the statement that there is no reason to have her on the show. If certain people will control who should or shouldn't be on what shows, then where does that lead to next, the burning of books you don't believe people need to read?

Okay, I have to ask you, do you hear yourself or read back your posts looking at it from an objectable opinion. You stated in this post "There are standards of society to be met in accepting a visitor into one's home or one's television program". Take a step back and read that statement (especially the words "standards of society". I'm sorry and I don't know how to say this gently and I'm certainly NOT NOT NOT saying you are "like" him, but that statement there is similar what Hitler said talking about the jews.

stop trying you read between the lines,
there is nothing there, bad comparison.
Trying out to be Sherlock Holmes?
Oops got the name and subject lines reversed.

If you are talking about something along the lines of Sharia law , it has already happened in the UK
I don't know if this is relevant to your posting but, I will put it out there. I think we need more than a read of Revelations.

If you go to www.actforamerica.org, or even American Congress for Truth, they bring up the Christianity vs Muslim dust up in the UK. Another place you could possibly find out more is the American Family Association website.

Either way, religion of any kind is being swept out and if we don't wake up soon, we will all be praying to Mecca or some other sponsored religion and wondering where "God" went.
I agree with you. Congress phone lines
in with so many complaints and not wanting to pass the stimulus. So there are others in this country who also agree.
JTBB wrote 7 lines, you say she conflated them into
16 issues and can't answer.  Did I read you correctly, you're going to be an intelligence analyst?  OMG!!
Amen! This cuts across all party lines
EVERY American man, woman and child should be up in arms and demand answers about this. How absolutely disgusting!

I live in Texas and we have the same problems this teacher is discussing here. It's time we take back OUR country and send the illegals packing.

I am all of immigration - if it is done correctly and legally. Not sneaking across the border or having babies in American so the whole clan is grandfathered in! That is abusive!
Yep, party lines before country! How pathetic!
--
If the govt. truly wanted to "cross party lines"

why don't they vote into law that the ticket has to have a Rep. and a Democrat.  So, for example, this year it would be Obama/Palin and McCain/Biden.  Not that the Pres. candidate would have to choose those 2 particular but Obama would have to have  Rep. and McCain would have to have a Dem.

I am sure this will never happen in my lifetime but I have always thought that.

The show is known for its liberty/constitutional story lines. sm
I thought it was funny, but I also understood the message.

Judge to review Cheney interview in CIA leak case

Libby told the FBI in 2003 that it was possible that Cheney ordered him to reveal Plame's identity to reporters. The prosecutor in that case, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, said in his closing remarks at Libby's trial that there was a "cloud" over Cheney's role in the case.

Fitzgerald told members of Congress who also sought the information that Cheney set no conditions about the use of his interview with investigators.

CREW argued that the public has a right to know the role that Cheney played in the leak and why he was not prosecuted.

A Cheney spokeswoman declined to comment on the case.

I hope Cehney will also be prosecuted about the Abu Ghraib torture case when Obama decides that the TIME IS RIGHT.

By George, I think I've got it!!

I watched "The Situation" on MSNBC last night, and I got a pretty good laugh regarding the Bush Administration taking a quote from Bono (of all people), completely twisting what it said to mean something completely different, and running with it.

I believe I'm starting to understand the disconnect between some of the Conservatives on this board and the rest of humanity.  They've obviously adopted the George W. Bush way of communicating.  I'm not sure if Bush is their hero because of his communication style or whether they personally adopted his technique after the fact.  Someone should really enlighten them that just because Bush does it, doesn't make it right, and that that is the very crux of many people's frustrations with Bush:  That he lies, and nobody can believe what he says.

Anyway, here's a copy of the transcript from that show.

CARLSON:  Next situation, the Bush administration between the rock and a hard place and it‘s all because of rock star Bono.  A State Department press release quotes the U2 front man praising President Bush.  But apparently, Bono was not so much quoted as misquoted.

According to the State Department, Bono said Bush, quote, “has already doubled and tripled aid to Africa.”  But actually, Bono told “Time” magazine, quote, “Bush feels he‘s already doubled and tripled aid to Africa, which he started from too low a place.”

This is such an interesting story on so many levels.  Here is the most interesting level, as far as I‘m concerned.  The Bush administration feels compelled to twist Bono‘s words.  Why do they care what Bono thinks?  Bush actually has dramatically elevated aid to Africa to a much higher level than Clinton ever even thought about bringing it.

The United States is the largest donor to Africa far and away.  We have no moral obligation to give anything to Africa.  We do it because we‘re decent.  Isn‘t that enough?  The front man from U2 has to approve?  Why are they lying about this?  It‘s bizarre.

SEVERIN:  This is very sad.  By the way, Bono has an “r” missing from the end of his name.  I just wanted to report that on this program.

Secondly, you know, how can I know what to think about world affairs until Bono and the Edge weigh in?  What about the Backstreet Boys?  What do they think today?  I mean, this is really sad that we care about what “Bonor” thinks about anything.

MADDOW:  Well, fine, you can be upset that they quoted Bono.  But the fact is, they misquoted Bono.

CARLSON:  No, but that makes me more upset.  Why are they doing that?

Why do they care?

(CROSSTALK)

MADDOW:  ... get out there and say that Bono, who they respect for whatever reason, he‘s actually made himself into a voice on debt issues...

(CROSSTALK)

CARLSON:  Well, I‘m sure he‘s a great guy and very smart.  I mean, still.

MADDOW:  Paul Wolfowitz thought he was worth, you know...

(CROSSTALK)

CARLSON:  That‘s right.

MADDOW:  ... long phone call before he took the head position at the World Bank.

SEVERIN:  I knew we‘d get you to say something nice about Wolfowitz before the year was up.

MADDOW:  Exactly.  But the fact is, the State Department, like they‘re doing—like the Bush administration is doing on way too many things, just overreach.  They not only had to quote Bono, they had to lie about what Bono said.  It‘s embarrassing.

CARLSON:  But why not just tell the truth about their own record?  It‘s compelling enough.  It‘s amazing.  Here‘s this purportedly mean, right-wing administration sending huge amounts of aid to Africa.

MADDOW:  Well, yes, they‘ve promised—they asked for $4 billion for the Millennium Challenge.  They‘ve actually spent $4 million.  So we‘ve got a difference of opinion on that.

CARLSON:  The fact is, in money spent already, they‘ve elevated 56 percent over the final year of the Clinton administration.  It‘s a lot of money.

MADDOW:  Yes.  But you can‘t take credit for more than you‘ve done.

SEVERIN:  Yes, but they‘re Republicans.  That‘s why.

CARLSON:  All right.

Add George Will

to the conservatives willing to say  no mccain, no way.

Hmmm, since Cheney is
perhaps Fitzgerald could use electrodes on Scooter (a grown man with that name should be a crime in itself..LOL), Rove and Cheney himself and see how he likes information extracted in this manner.
Agree 100%. Cheney is the
one of the masterminds of this adminstration.  As I said, but screwed up the post, that if they impeach Bush, they better darn well take Cheney out with him.  He is far more dangerous than Bush could ever hope to be, but will Cheney be called to task for his evildoings?  How in the United States of America did torture become a topic of conversation? Why has not anyone been called out on these things they have done in the guise of national security?  And what really gets me is that people are WILLING to give away their freedoms and rights to be safe.  So who are the cowards?  Also, and I have heard no one mention this, that after 9/11, Bush said we will not cower to the terrorists, not to change our way of life, our celebrations, to go about as we were, etc.   Hmmm, so instead, our rights and freedoms have been violated.  Now we have unauthorized NSA spies on our phone calls, emails, whatever else they want to peer into, and now the filthy Patriot Act is up, thank Goodness, but what's next?  Scary.
Yes, I was joking about Cheney. sm
I agree the bill is nuts. I can get you a link to that. It actually passed.
Cheney on warpath again?
This is a long article written by Dan Froomkin of The Washington Post, Apr. 11, 2008.

It goes to Cheney's warmongering concerning Iran (if such be the case), the difference of opinion on Iran (Gates and Rice v Cheney), clarification on the "wipe Israel off the map" comment, Cheney's recent visit to Israel, and much more. Page 5 goes into other topics; one of special interest being torture approved from the WH basement by Bush aides and Cheney.

Excellent article that covers recent comments being made by Cheney about Iran (you may recall he and Rumsfeld did the same prior to the fantisized reasons to invade Iraq).

I bring it for edification and perhaps for discussion.

Cheney deja vu all over again nm

Funny how he pops up all over the place now, but while in office all he could do was hide.
I am in NO way a fan of Bush or Cheney,
but at least they're not lying about what they did. If these congressmen would just come out and say that they knew what was going on and did nothing about it, sure it would make them look bad, but not as bad as lying about it does.

I guess it shouldn't surprise us, though, that there's no taking responsibility for actions in our government - that's one of the biggest problems in our country - it's always someone else's fault.

Take 'em all down, I say. Kick every last one of them out and start anew.

George W. Bush
Why would you say that about our President? Please help me understand.
George Bush
I am counting the days until this person is out of office and pray that our country can withstand the wait.

I have been around a while (let's just put it that way) and in my opinion we have NEVER had a President who has been so bad for our country - and I certainly include Poor Nixon and his few bungling burglars and his silly little lies in that list, along with Clinton and his scandalous behavior, which now in sad retrospect is just par for the course, apparently, among politicians - he has ransacked our Treasury (I don't know if you all remember we had a surplus when he came into office), has totally ruined the reputation of the US around the world, got us into a pointless war with untruths and fabrications causing the death of over 3000 young Americans (so far) and is able to somehow hold his head up and act like nothing is wrong. And is now busily trying to broker a peace settlement in the Middle East to there is something to be said for his 8 lousy years in the White House.

I truly believe he stole the first election with the help of his like-minded buddies on the Supreme Court and the second one by the curious release of the Osama Bin Laden tape shortly before the elections, which I feel prompted some rubes to be too scared to change horses in the middle of the stream (war) and voted to keep him in office. I myself did not vote for him either time and am glad I didn't, even though I am living with the consequences of his presidency; for example paying $4.15 a gallon for gas and seeing the price of groceries rising every time I go into the store (plus I live in Michigan, which is a hard luck state right now to start with).

Frankly, I was shocked when he was reelected; I truly did not believe that our supposedly sophisticated and intelligent electorate would put this man back into office.

The day he hits the dusty trail for Texas will be a happy one for me!
