What are platforms? I am brand spanking new and unfamilar with the lingo around here? LOL I just started a new job yesterday and so far it seems to be okay. However, the manager said something along the lines of the company going to a new platform in the first of the year. Any info would help this confused new MT :)

I am a new Transcriptionist working in a hospital in acute care and wanted to see if someone could tell me how they have learned about the various platforms out there? Was it from personally working on them or is there another way to learn about them? I am currently working in Chart Script and using a dictaphone to work from home. Also - can someone tell me what a C-phone is? I have seen this term used in many different posts. As I said, I am a newbie! Thanks for your help. MTOhio
XP is the way to go. Many transcription platforms are still
not compatible with Vista, as well as expanders, and other software.
Most platforms are 1150 per day minimum
