I would love to be able to "get my foot in the door somewhere". I'm not looking to make a ton of money right away, I just want the experience. Something part-time from home would be fine with me because I already have a full-time job.

get into a transcription clerk position for a few months just to get your foot in. i had a "medical administration course that included transcription for only 5 weeks and i knew it wasnt enough. so i applied for an MT clerk position for 9 months, learned a lot from the mts, and got a position as an mt. it took a lot of time and patience, but very well worth it. now i make $20 hourly plus incentive working at home as an in-house mt for the same hospital. good luck
