if you are new in the field? That really is not fair to you. You must be going bonkers!! I think you would serve yourself better if you took a job transcribing first, got some experience under your belt, and years (I mean years) down the road, edit if you would like.
I really feel for you.

testing: to edit or not to edit
I'm new to this whole testing thing and I have a question for you all. I downloaded the wav file from a company and had no difficulty in transcribing it. But at one point, the dictator says q.d. According to the BOS, this is on the dangerous abbreviations list and should be changed.
So, here is the question... The company's directions just say to transcribe, nothing about editing it, how to flag changes, etc. Should I do it and flag why, or just leave it as q.d.?
Any advice surely would be appreciated!

Sorry, I meant "tax preparer course" and finding a sample dictation for her to listen to and try to type.
Maybe not disrespect but rather ill-informed.
I think a lot of these newer MT's or recent graduates were promised something and are finding out it is not as easy as the schools promised. I for one am not annoyed or bothered by this, but truly remember the day when I graduated 15 years ago and could not find a job. The tone in some of the postings are harsh, but maybe that is frustration. I remember the day.
No disrespect, please read
The problem I have here is that my address and all my info are on my resume on a COMPLETELY unregulated board--do you see my issue? I am so willing to work for someone, but anyone can access this site and get personal info--such as my address and contact information. Is there more a secure way to do this?
