keep plugging away. I truly feel the best choice for a newbie is to be given the opportunity to focus on 1-3 specialties at a time. Unfortunately, with most of the larger companies online, the Turn Around Time has become crucial in the competition arena for these companies to hold onto their clients. Many MTs are given multispecialties with the national companies, which means you must know your stuff! No matter how good of a student you were, there's no comparison to what you will encounter with the time constraints, Quality Assurance person watching you, etc. Try not to be so set on being at home. Going into a hospital or clinic to work with experienced MTs will offer you invaluable experience and learning that will build your knowledge and skills tremendously. This is what the older generation MT did (like me) because years ago there were no online companies. Lack of experience with many of the online training courses have given many new MTs such unrealistic goals straight out from the program. If you are persistent, have a desire to keep learning every day, and realize that the first couple of years is a huge learning time in this profession, you will do fine.
