You are definately going to need some good reference materials. But as far as foot pedal, etc...it depends on the company you go to work for. Each company tends to use different software. You could get a 9-pin or USB foot pedal for testing, but I wouldn't get too involved with buying other equipment until you are hired somewhere. That stuff can be expensive and there is no guarantee what you get will be compatablile with the specific company you go to work for.
