and are doing it basically to stay home with kids, limit your availability to certain hours/days/whatever and are very vocal about the fact that your family takes a higher priority than your job, you are not going to be given the pick of the accounts.
That is the way it is. The only way you will make a high line rate, high production and high quality is to put the family 2nd for the first years of your career.
If you were told when you were in school that this was a job where you could pick and choose your hours, they misrepresented what this career is. You are only valuable to a MTSO if you are a high producer with high quality to go along with it.
If you are a family person and work around family time, the MTSO will not value you as highly as someone who is sacrificing everything else to do whatever is thrown at him/her and get those high line counts.
If you have a job that will work around your limited availability, you'd better keep that job. You are not going to find many services willing to work with what your requirements are right now.
