With so many MTs having trouble with not enough work to do, I found having two part time jobs worked best for me. One is straight medical transcription and the other is general transcription covering a large variety of topics. Usually if one is slow, the other is busy, so I can do extra work to help catch them up.
I enjoy the challenge of the medical transcription and the variety of topics from the other transcribing job. However, I'm an independent contractor. If I was hired on as an employee, I'm not certain whether there would be a conflict of interest.
