I, like one of the other posters, have a hard time sitting for so long. This surely beats a lot of jobs out there, and I have awesome flexibility, but am expected to work at least 30 hours per wk. Between three kids (grade school and preschool ages), activities, family time, yardwork, housecleaning, and this job, I feel really pulled. If I cut my day hours to spend time with the kids, dh gets left out. If I cut night hours to spend time with dh, the kids get left out.
I think this is a GREAT part time job. I have a really good work situation right now and would not want to change it, except for making it a 20 hr/wk job. If it gets to me enough, I am going to talk to my boss about reducing my hours.
Of course, with kids, anything near full time hours, regardless of the job, is going to be rough.
Beyond all of that, I like using my brain, but want to use my body a little more and be around others again. I am thinking of getting my BSN or RRT in the future. In your situation, you might be ready for a few years or more of doing MT.
