There are a lot of factors that weigh into it

I was a single mother for years and supported my children and myself with my income. Don't get me wrong, we were not living lavishly but I survived minus government assistance and very, very minimal child support.
I think it just depends on who you are working for and how ambitious you are.

It depends on a lot of factors.
I charge 13.5 cpl, but I do everything digitally. I do not pick up tapes or print out documents. If I did, my rate would be much higher. I also have a very long TAT. For shorter TATs, I charge more. Also, consider your cost of living. If you live in a high-cost area, you should charge more.
Good luck.
It depends on what similar factors are
important to you. If you are interested in medicine, then maybe medical coding would work for you (Andrews has a program in this). If you are interested in transcription, then maybe general or legal transcription. If you just want to work at home with a flexible schedule, maybe Alpine Access or something similar.
No real average. Too many factors.
Font type and size, margins, headers and footers can all affect how many lines fit on a page. How many lines I get per page for my account may differ drastically than what someone else is getting due to different formatting.
