I understand your point and I have no problem taking advice from those who have been in the profession for years. I agree that you and others who've been there and done that, have valuable insight into all the different aspects which come into play. My only point in responding is that the way in which the other post was worded (and now the two responses to my post) are written in a manner which is somewhat offensive, and I think that is unneccessary. It's one thing to say that in your experience raising children and doing MT work is difficult etc, but it's something else altogether when you don't know the situation fully, don't know the children (perhaps they're of the type quite content to be on their own for a few hours... who knows!) and to come down on someone because they're looking for some support. Lisa didn't deserve that negativity. It was more the way in which it was said that bothered me and not so much the point that the poster was trying to make. It wasn't constructive to come on the board to post a response calling her naive and saying she should've known better when she was obviously looking for guidance and would've received said guidance with more respect, if the person giving the advice had taken a different approach.
