I have been transcribing for 18 years. The first four years I transcribed medical (everything you could think of - - ops, etc.). Then I had my own business for two years, working mainly for a hospital; again, transcribing everything. Fourteen years ago I took the position I have now, wherein I only transcribe psych reports. I do have the medical background but I am just not secure in myself I guess to venture out. I do not want to make mistakes and I feel so behind on things presently. This is why I was thinking about going back to school. I am sure some things will just come back to me, but I am not confident currently.
