Honestly, you are really worrying needlessly about these issues. I seriously doubt any deception on the part of M-TEC; most likely something you are not understanding.
As far as Andrews, one of the great things about online learning is that you do not have to participate in any "extracurricular" activities except by choice. No need to try and fit in. Linda Andrews has stated previously that the board is private because the students want it that way.
I agree with the other posters that you should contact Linda and Susan directly with all your questions. Another suggestion: Have you been to MT Chat yet? The schools both have forums there; you can read the posts and send PMs to the graduates there and ask them if they feel there was anything lacking in their course, etc.
I feel you are really comparing apples and oranges and will be fine with either course.
Oh, btw, another thing to consider in favor of M-Tec is that they do have a tiered program for those with a medical background. Since you now state that you have previously completed an MT course, I would inquire if you would qualify for that also.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Still Deciding: M-Tec v. Andrews
Thanks to everyone who replied below. I learned a lot. I'm seriously concerned about M-Tec & the 86% to graduate thing. I'm also worried because I feel like I may have uncovered a bit of deception on M-Tec's part. Their financial overview section states that they offer an interest-free payment plan option. However, when I calculate the cost of the payment plan described in the payment plan section, it costs $150 more to use the payment plan. Isn't that pretty much the same thing as interest?
You might be thinking well why doesn't this person just choose Andrews, but I also have concerns about Andrews. For one thing, their website hasn't changed in years, and it is not very user friendly. For another thing, they have a private board. In my previous MT training experience, when the students started complaining about how badly the program was going, our board was made private, so I am a little leery of any sort of secrecy. Another thing is I'm worried about fitting in with the Andrews culture. It is hard to explain, but there are things like the Irish pub that I realize are just to blow off steam and have fun, but I am a very serious person, and I'm not sure I could fit in. Especially since I already had a bad experience with MT training, I just want to get the work done with no extra nonsense.
If anyone has more insight or information, please help!
Deciding if school is right for me
I have been working for the last 3+ years as an MT for a chiropractor and physical therapist. It was A LOT of work in the beginning (learning terminology), but now I'm pretty proficient (with them). I have more time on my hands and started to look for more work and have found out I can't find work without going to school and getting certified. I'm interested in going to M-Tec because I hear that this school and Andrews are the only schools worth going to if you want to work from home. My question is, is it really worth it? I went to college and have a BS in Psychology, but found out I made more money working in law offices (what I did in High School), rather than trying to get into the Psychology field without my Masters. I really don't want to go back to school to get my Masters and then work outside the home. (Things have significantly changed since having kids, including one that had cancer). I think I'd rather work from home and MT jobs seem to be the way to do that. Is it worth going through the training to find a job where I can stay at home? If I go through with M-TEC, can they help me find a job? How much do MTs make after a couple of years working full time being certified? I need to make a decision on whether to pursue MT or stay with Psychology and get my Masters. I'd rather be an MT if I can make good money. Any help would be appreciated!
