SO MANY WONDERFUL REPLIES

Posted By: DKM on 2005-11-15
In Reply to: Newbies, etc. - DKM

I have had many wonderful responses and replies to my post above and, as I can only take one at a time, I have made that decision at this time. I want to thank all of you, especially the very kind words below from one wonderful person who has allowed me to take her under my wing. I wish I could take all of you and place you in the world where you want to be, but I can only take one at a time to make the experience worthwhile. I will be keeping all of your wonderful replies and resumes, and should it work out down the road soon, I will look over them again. I wish all who work hard to excel in whatever they set their minds to do all the very best.

I am also a "newbie" looking for an internship. However, my course emphasized on proof reading, grammar, english, and structure. To me, your reply was just funny.
Thank you all for your replies and advice.

just had to reply to self to activate email notification of replies
just had to reply to self to activate email notification of replies - didn't do that on original post and I want to know when people have replied to this  : )
You all are so wonderful... *sm*
Thank you for all the encouragement. I think I've cried it all out for tonight. I will take your advice and get a good night's sleep.

Thank you for sharing your stories. I don't feel so alone now.

No money, wonderful place
I don't believe you have to register to use word help.  Response time depends on the question.  Some of us can figure out what you mean in minutes and some of us take a while and/or may never come up with anything.  It's a great place, though (thanks MTStars!!!).  Highly recommend you bookmark it.  Even if you feel it might be a silly question, just ask!  I was blessed to work in-house my first two years, and I was constantly asking for help! Good luck!
This site is a wonderful tool for anyone...not to mention newbies

Speaking for myself....it's always nice to have another MT to bounce things off of when I'm stuck on something.  I can't say enough positive things about this site.  It's amazing at all the helpful people on here willing to help someone else.

Can any of you that have been at this for a long period of time answer me this question?  When you first started out...did you feel overwhelmed?  How long does it take a person to really see if this is something they'll be good at?  I find myself getting headaches really easy and only after a few hours of typing.  I feel fatigued.  Is it normal to feel this way in the beginning and what suggestions do you have to help?  When do you feel that things are finally settling down and you start to move along at a normal pace? I'll give it a few months I guess...I'd think at that point I would have a pretty good idea if this is something I'm going to be productive at or not.

Sorry for all the questions.....I guess I am feeling uneasy and was hoping for some reassurance or words of wisdom from none other than another MT.

For phrases, not just words, the Medical Phrase Index is wonderful for newbies. Get it used! nm
