These overseas MTs are probably pretty good in their own language and their own dialect.
There are some language software programs that can make some changes, but it's kind of like VR and misses a great deal, cannot think, use proper tenses or grammar, always use proper spelling and certainly can't go back and make corrections or "add to" and "take out" when dictators say so. And then there are all the "umms, next, ands, likes, thats, uhs, coughs, sneezes, taps, other extraneous noise, etc." to deal with - this software just can't do it. I don't know of anyone who uses it.

Overseas MT's
I am not sure about anyone else, but I have read other boards that included MT's from outside the U.S. They generally do not use proper English, and I was unsure if that is how their transcription work comes out. Or is there a program which changes the incorrect spelling to the correct spelling? Any ideas?
Jobs are going overseas anyway -
wonder how they're trained. It's a bunch of garbage that you need all this "schooling." Look at the schooling these doctors have - any they still can't talk! - Mumbling, slurring, etc. Required schooling for becoming an MT is over rated.
Can a U.S. MT work overseas?
Hi, I have been a stay-at-home mom who is considering the Career Step MT program so I can continue to be at home with my kids. We are currently living in Germany as my husband has taken a short term international assignment with a government contractor. I would like to use my time over here to gain some new job skills, hence the thought about taking the CS program, but I'm wondering if I will have to wait until we return to the States in order to become employed. Thanks for any info or advice you can give me.
Overseas Military????
I am a newbie looking for anyone that was hired who is on a military base overseas? I am a spouse, stationed in Japan with my husband. This career seemed to be the perfect fit to me. I hope this wasn't in vain. I just despise the companies that are replying to resume that I must "reside" in the US. We are here as a sacrifice to help support our country - where's our support? Just venting...
So, if there is anyone out there who has been through this or has some advise it would be so appreciated

Thanks! I plan to take the Andrews or M-Tec course if I decide MT is right for me. From what I've read, it's the best option for someone who wants to work from home - I certainly won't have the luxury of going to an office any time soon.
Companies truly don't want americans that live overseas? Is there a reason for this?
wanting to work from overseas
HI,
I would like to be a medical transcriptionist. I'm thinking about enrolling in an online course. HOwever, the reason I want to be a Transcriptionist is that I want to be able to work from overseas, particularly in the PHilippines.
Does anyone know if companies would allow a person to work from overseas or in a third world country?
Does the particular country make a difference?
