Need a job!

I am a recent grad, and like so many others that I am talking to I cannot find employment. I have only had 2 offers, and I had to decline both. Is this just a horrible time to look for a job, or what? Anyone else in the same boat? Anyone with advice? I have applied to over 50 companies!!! I am going crazy (and broke)!
