Just now read this! Thanks for your input now and before. :) By the way, I LOVE the show "ER"! lol A post earlier today said something that resonated w/ me : Doing MT work for this person was great b/c it was like a wonderful, huge, fun crossword puzzle! She couldn't wait to "figure it out"! What a great way to look at it...! I am just like you in that if I HAVE to sit for long, it's harder than if I CHOOSE to do it. Having the option of PT is very nice, as is working from home.
How long have you worked as an MT? Where did you get your training? -Anne

Thanks so much Laura!
I appreciate your response. CS is looking more and more like the school I'd like. I've decided to continue my local PT job in order to save up for the tuition. I should be able to enroll after the holidays, or sooner, if possible.
Here's an odd question for you: Do you ever get crazy bored doing all this typing? My teenage daughter thinks I will, cuz I'm a "people" person! I hope to do MT just part time from home if possible. That's my goal, anyway...
Thanks again for your post.
Anne :-)

When I had newly finished my MT training a Medquist local office hired me on and trained me in house and then I got to go home and work. They have closed a lot of offices though, so I don't know how the newbie training process is now.
hi Laura
Acute care is basically hospital reports, discharge summaries, op notes, procedure notes, ER notes...anything from a hospital. Basic 4 means clinic notes, history and physicals, discharge summaries and op reports.
If I am not correct on this lemme know everyone! Hope I have them right!
