people try to rationalize putting small children in daycare by saying "social skills". You can put a child in preschool two days or three days a week for two hours or so a day. That's what we do with our preschooler. That teaches them social skills along with you playing with them, going to the church nursery, and getting together for playdates. Being in daycare eight hours a day? That's not "teaching social skills". That's convenience for the parent.
I actually had someone tell me that they put their infant in daycare at eight weeks old to go back to work because of "social skills". An infant doesn't need "social skills". A preschooler doesn't need six to eight hours every day of "social skills". People will say anything to rationalize themselves into feeling good about daycare.
You do preschool (which is not an all-day , every-day program) for social skills. You do daycare when you want them somewhere while you work. There is a difference.
(And yes, I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education. And I am not using them BECAUSE I want to be home with my children!)

Yes it is hard to get a job w/o having experience. You don't make much money starting out, but how much you make depends on how many lines you can produce. It is doubtful you'll make more than minimum wage for several months.
