I am new to all of this, so, can someone explain to me all these MT companies being from India?  I have a listing of companies, and quite a few of them list India as their address.  I have stayed away from those companies so far, but just am curious as to what is the deal.

Thanks!!

They work hard over there and are dependable, unlike some American MTs. Not all American transcriptionists, but some. If American transcriptionists cannot be depended upon, some companies choose to go abroad. They really do not have a choice if they cannot find dependable help in the states. I know this will spark controversy, but it is true in many cases.
No, he/she is NOT. Chennai is in India.
I've already reported this on the Monitor board for removal. He/she needs to find another website do look for American jobs to steal.
Because no one cares about the AAMT. Except India.

HARD GETTING FIRST JOB, NO WONDER INDIA IS AHEAD OF US!!!!!
I finally got my first job for 6 cents a line.  I found the job myself.  Keep looking around and do not give up.  I encountered a lot of road blocks.  Everyone basically cares out themselves.  Sad to say, but the majority of Americans do not care about teamwork, and helping others.  That is why India and other countries are ahead of us MTs and many other professions.  TEAMWORK
First India, Then Australia, Now Jamaica
Springville, Utah (PRWEB) April 15, 2009 -- Career Step, a leading provider of medical transcription career training, has recently partnered with HCIT Solutions, a provider of healthcare IT training services in the English-speaking Caribbean. The companies have teamed up to help develop the Jamaican medical transcription field within the growing global healthcare industry.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with Career Step to provide a best-in-class medical transcription training program to Jamaicans seeking careers as medical language specialists," said Dr. Saleem Josephs, President and CEO of HCIT Solutions. "It is quite evident that the leading U.S. medical transcription service organizations (MTSOs) value the academic rigor and training of a Career Step graduate, and partnering with the right training platform is critical to creating value for both the people of Jamaica and HCIT Solutions' strategic partners."
If quality mattered, there would be NO MT work from India
I mean, I know you're CERTIFIED and all, but you have to be kidding...
India is hardly ahead of us. I have posted this several times now.
MTs required to do the same amount of work.  Do you call that being ahead of us? I don't think so.  The only reason there are a lot more Indian MTs, or from other countries for that matter is because it's about a 3 to 1 ratio.  Yes, there is a lot of dictation going overseas, but keep in mind that the quality coming back is very poor and requires American editors to clean up the mess, which equals jobs to Americans.

Coding has much more of a future than MT right now. Coding can't be sent out to India and
it requires an active thought process to do it, so it's not likely to be replaced by software. Yet. I bet there's a lot of MT's right now that wish they would have chosen coding...
