I would suspect that if you "test well," then the problem is the market.

from what you say and from what the boards say, it sounds like there is an abundance of MT's that are more qualified than you that are looking for the same jobs. In which case, you could consider working for free or in an internship. In order to get experience. BTW and with all due respect, it doesn't really matter that you worked your butt off to get your MT training. That just doesn't cut it as a reason for an MTSO to hire you for a job.

job market
I don't think you need to worry about the job market. I have always found that if you apply yourself diligently to whatever you do, then a a place and a space will be available for you. "Your gift shall make room for you." (KJV of the Bible)
It isn't just new graduates. The job market...sm
is not what it was in MT. I guess the economy has affected it.
One of the hardest things I've done was find a job after MT school. I searched and searched. I finally just kept applying and somone gave me a chance.
or it means the job market has shrunk while you were busy studying...welcome
to reality. You may want to just cut your losses and get back in school for Medical Assistant, nursing or something. From here, it only gets worse, honey.
