I certainly did not mean to be discouraging

I was also in a similar situation. I was not a nurse, but I had studied medical record administration and nutrition and did have basic med term knowledge. I also got into the industry through a small company (I posted about that yesterday). These days I don't know if there are as many opportunities to do it that way. I just wanted her to know it takes a while to make money at this. If she wants to be an MT I hope she has the time to invest in it, because it sounds as if her situation is desperate and she needs money now. I'd be the last person to say she could not be successful at it.

That's discouraging..
I hope that it'll be easier than that to find work. I'm also finishing up with the Allied Medical School Transcription Course and I've been working on it for a year and 1/2 ! I was also under the understanding that we would have job placement... (Sigh) I hope we can both find work easy.. b/c our family is in major need of my income too after studying. Very scary to think though that these years wasted on study will not be rewarded with a decent job in the end.
