I'm Getting Freaked

I'm getting freaked out by reading the posts in the Medquist forum and over on the Main Board.

People seem to be jumping all over other people in some cases, while the first people are just asking for help nicely. Is it a dog-eat-dog world in MT? I had enough of that in nursing ("Nurses eat their young.").

In other cases, I really don't follow all the abbreviations, all the talk of "critical errors" and "100 percent QA" and just TOO MANY things to enumerate.

I feel totally lost. I'm just starting a program and while I think the PROGRAM will go fine, it just looks like there is TONS of knowledge I won't have when I finish -- real life knowledge of how to act and what to do as an MT.

Does anyone else find the threads on the Main and Medquist boards kind of daunting?
