entry level MT

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of completing my medical transcription education and would like to know if anyone knows of any companies that are hiring entry level medical Transcriptionist at this time. I really need to find employment immediately so if anyone has any information I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Entry Level
I am a new MT and I would like to know how someone gets started in this field? I am so frustrated and would like to find a job. I would like to work from home, but know I need to work in an office setting first.
Entry Level
My suggestion would be to either work in the hospital or in a doctor's office.  It will be almost impossible to get an at-home position without any direct experience.  It helps having someone easily accessible to go to when questions arise.  Stay long enough to get the experience you need then if you wish to move to an at-home position, it won't be so hard to find a job.  Good Luck!

I graduated in 2004 and I am still trying to get a position as a medical Transcriptionist while working in a local grocery store deli. Good luck isn't enough eveidently.
ENTRY LEVEL
Does anyone know of companies that are hiring entry level positions?  I graduated on 04/2009 with Allied Medical School and cannot even find one company that will look at me.  I have had experience but it has been more than 2 years ago, and I guess you need recent experience.  Help!

Entry Level Jobs

Do you want to work from home?  If you can't find anything locally, try doing an internet search for some of the national MT companies.  You can always test with them and if you pass their test, you will have no problem getting a job.

If your education was not adequate, you can always try M-Tec or Andrews.  They have excellent placement rates for their graduates.

What about entry-level people?
I have been looking for a position in transcription for a while now. Everyone wants EXPERIENCE!!! My question is, how do you get experience if nobody is willing to hire you? I have taken tests and the responses that I get are that other people are more qualified but that I do have an impressive background. What do you do?
Sten-Tel has entry-level positions
nm
Spheris hires entry level graduates from
at 5.5 cpl, they pay direct deposit on time, insurance not that great (large deductible) and all the usual FT benefits. Only PT benefit is 401K. My supervisor, QA people, and accounts have all been decent, 4-1/2 years into it.
Employment tests are not easy, even for entry level.
They need to know what you know. Sometimes the things you blank are just as important as the things you get right.
Trouble finding Entry Level work

I just recently completed all of my course work for my AAS in Medical Transcription, graduation isn't until May, and I am having a really hard time finding entry level work.  I was just wondering if anyone had any tips that they found to be successful.  I have posted my resume on a few sites, I have been submitting resumes to every company I can, I have even been able to apply to quite a few, but still I keep being told that I do not have the experience required and to keep looking for a company with an internship/mentoring program, and I can not find any that I do not have to pay for myself.

I do understand that patience is needed, especially when first starting out, I was just hoping for a little direction and a little venting.

Thanks--Christina

Trouble finding Entry Level work
I, too, am having a hard time finding any work. We (all MTs) all started out somewhere, but I am having a hard time finding that somewhere. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Re-entry
Try contacting your original school and ask if they will let you sit in on some current classes -- or borrow tapes to practice on at home. Get the 3rd edition of BOS and update all your references, especially surgical instruments, as they seem to have new ones every day. Perhaps your former instructor might have some additional suggestions? Good luck! Rosie

sounds like your skill level needs work...
SO, you may do best in a hospital setting where there are oldtimers around to help you. Do NOT give up! :-)
