Don't let anybody under your skin

Some people just like to dig at others and they are just not worth your time really, probably very unhappy themselves.
You are 100% right about homeschooing. It does not take eight hours a day, even the homeschool regulations (which exist in every state) say that and they also indicate the minimum that must be taught and anyone can teach more than that. I know, that is how I taught my kids and I went to school and worked 32 hours per week out of the home. My kids got a stellar education and went straight into college from there. So, please ignore comments form people about homeschooling who know nothing about which they speak.
You can take a less expensive MT course for training. However, if you can afford one of the top three, that would be better for you. If you can't, you may need to work a little harder to make sure you don't miss out on anything that probably should have been taught in the program. One way to do that is keeping abreast of industry changes, standards, and network with other MTs and MT specific organizations.
And don't let the lack of a "top three" school scare you too much. It isn't like they run the MT world or anything. If a person has the initiative to learn and willingness to jump in and study and do the work that needs to be done (including extra study if need be), then they will do fine. I went to Meditec and worked straight from graduation.
Good luck to you. God Bless.
