Excuse me for jumping in on this, but where does the post you are referring to demonstrate a lack of manners?
The poster makes a valid point that good grammar and command of the English language are a prerequisite for being a good MT. Why sugarcoat it? This is a difficult career to learn even if you are extremely proficient in the language, and if you aren't, you'd better plan to put a lot of time in learning the basics or find another career path. If you have weak grammar and usage skills, it may be a clue that you don't have the basic aptitudes needed to be an MT. Nothing rude about that - it's a fact!
