I can relate to your post. I also am a single mom and my son is home-schooled. I have worked at home as an employee of an
MT company for 8 years. I would say the best way for you to be successful is to study above and beyond what the school curriculum is, whatever school you chose. Your earnings are in direct relation to your knowledge, I have found. Yes, the school you choose is important as well (I went to an MT program at a local community college), but as far as your actual income....the more knowledge you have, the less you have to look up, hence the more you can make.. Also, I got my foot in the door by telling them I WANTED to work eves/weekends, which I still do to this day because I LIKE it. While in school, read everything related to medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, english grammar that you can get your hands on. I think what helped me the most before I started was reading endless "sample medical reports." These can be found easily online. I can tell by your error-free post (perfect spelling, grammar, clear communication) that you already have the grammar base covered, so go for it and I wish you well! Feel free to email me with any questions you may have. I'd be happy to give you any information I can. Good Luck!
