5.5cpl seems low

I know I said that I was more concerned with getting my foot in the door than with the pay. However, I did read a post somewhere that said that working for too little simply belittles MT's and affects pay on a broader scale. I've seen places pay 7 or 8 cpl but 5.5 seems REALLLLLY low. Any thoughts?
