A lot of times it has to do with what school you went through. There are 2 good schools that companies will hire you from as a graduate to work from home, which is the one I recommended to my sister where she was hired. A lot of people coming into this field and starting school don't research this with companies, which is the very first thing they should do. There are tons of online courses to do medical transcription but only a few that are really good and recognized. Otherwise, like the other poster said, you'll probably have to work outside of the home to get some experience for a couple of years. When I started transcription, I didn't really have the option of working from home as MTs do now, so I worked in-house for 5 years. Good luck, though!! :)
