Try this - After the program is loaded in your system, press Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the task manager. Find the name of the file in the list. Right-click on it. A box will open that says End Process, End Process Time, and at the bottom is says "Set Priority." Move down to Set Priority, and another box will open up. Left click on High (do NOT pick Real) and choose YES (don't worry about the warning; everything will be fine).
This is a little trick that's used with SR (speech recognition) when you want to ootch the program while you're in a word processor.
