I have worked for her for over 5 years and NEVER had a problem.
Guess going national to find decent transcriptionists is a mistake. All you do is slam, slam, slam. Pathetic bunch a lot of you are. You deserve stuggling with the huge companies and low work and crappy platforms and VR at half the pay.

It's great *you* didn't automatically see the racial component of the original post, but RACISM is very subtle, and usually NOT recognized by those who do practice it the most (which is not to suggest this includes *you).
THAT'S why it's incumbent on all of us to never tolerate it, regardless of what "color" is being targeted.

The key #'s are determined by the dictation system for the company you are working with. For instance where "7" signs off a report on some systems 7 jumps to the beginning on others. So, if you know what the keypad corresponds to for your system I can help you there. If this is a 0421 or 0424 you can go to the Classifieds board, down at bottom, unless it moves to page 2 before then, you can access a free c-phone manual which will walk you through the program steps.

Piecework or not, no company is required to pay you overtime unless they approve it. I don't know where you got this impression, but it is wrong. By the way, I used to be an HR director in California, so I know what I'm talking about.

What I mean is that I am currently enrolled in my CMT program at my school of choice and yes, after two years of experience I can then sit for the test...but I don't know what that has to do with my question...just wanted to gain some insight since I am new to the medical transcription game...sorry if I offended anyone

My life is pathetic. *sm*
I work outside the home and I make a good wage/yearly income. I took up medical transcription on the side in hopes that some day I could work from home. I have to travel almost an hour to work each way and I live where we have major snow and ice storms and the older I get, the more anxiety I get about driving in this weather. My husband hasn't been able to find a good job (he works about 30 hours a week at a dead-end job with no benefits) and I have a son in college. I find that I work all the time with almost no social life. I also have friends and relatives who seem to be working more than one job either both jobs outside the home or one job outside the home and then doing something on line. No matter how much I work, I never seem to be able to get ahead and it scares me. I do not have an extravagent home nor do I drive a newer vehicle. What is wrong with us that we have to work more than one job to make a living and how am I going to face retirement? I am thinking I will have to do medical transcription from home until I can no longer see and just pray that it is still around. I never in a million years thought that my life would end up like this. I should have listened to everyone when they said it was just as easy to marry a rich guy as it is a poor one.

I cannot believe that you would say such a cruel thing to this woman ESP. when you have been through the same experience yourself!! Not everyone gets a second chance to find a better person and/or life like you did. You need to apologize PROFUSELY to "my life is pathetic." I've had my "down" times, and as YOU should know, it is not easy to keep a happy face and have hope for the future. the mass generalizations. i never have understood it. Maybe i have been blessed enough to grow up near and know people of many races and cultures and i see the HUMAN in all of us. sure i have some prejudices, but its more toward those with massive tattoos, klaidoscope hair color etc, fhe things people choose for their appearance, not gender, skin color, age, etc.
