 Or are they all here in Texas? I've heard people who are volunteering at the Astrodome say that they throw trash on the floor, drop food, etc.etc. and expect the volunteers (I guess) to pick it up for them. If your state isn't taking any in, why not?

You're misunderstanding how toll free call in
services work. You can't just get some long distance service at 3 cents a minute. Where are the doctors supposed to leave their dictation? We have software that answers, prompts for the dictator ID and password, then keypad functions the doctor uses to leave their dictation. Then, those dictated files are provided to the transcription service via FTP. So, our service, at 9 cents per minute is the cheapest on the market offering these features and we do not require a large amount of minutes per month like other toll free call in services do.
Not to mention you're letting the govt use your money INTEREST FREE

Where the hell is your compassion for people who could not control what happend???? Not ALL of them are guilty of the crimes we see on TV - you dont have to take them into your home - but if it was YOU - wouldnt you want some place to go???? You need some sensitivity counseling.

I live in a small rural area and they housed some evacuees at a nearby military base
crime went UP in our little community that previously HAD a ~very low~ crime rate. It is a FACT. I'm not saying all NO residents are like that, but MANY seem to be.
My mom was raised in conditions like this poster describes. Mom's parents died when she was 7 (father) and 9 (mother). Her teenage sister (newlywed) raised her and 4 other siblings. They had next to nothing. Not ONE of them turned to a life of crime. Not ONE even graduated high school but they still made good lives for themselves. Life was rough for them, but they didn't blame it on everyone else and cry around about what the president should be doing for them. It is all about RESPONSIBILITY and taking what life throws your way. IMO.

I have used this for years and have compared to Sylvan, Word, and MP Count, etc. When you have it set to count every character, bold, shift, tab, etc. It is great and always higher than the others. Now if you are wanting gross lines like in Word then no it won't be as high because Word counts blanks lines and Abacus counts a line only if there is a character on it. There is also two places to check for it to count the Headers/Footers. If you have the FREE version then it must be the trial or a very old version so you don't have all the features and functions.

There is a church in Gonzales that is a small church but housing evacuees.
Helping a small church could be the best way to help someone.
Their web page says they need everything from personal items to clothing and bedding to food and water, don't forget first aid supplies. They said you could send money but there's nothing there to buy anyway.

Bigger churches have more people, it's the small churches that need outside help and don't qualify for Red Cross or anyone else to help but people like us.
Name a state and put every company in that state under suspicion.
Tell what the first letter of the company is and every company with that initial will be suspect. I would imagine that everyone who works for that company has received an inquiry from department of labor, so they would all be aware of it.
Why do we persist in setting up companies to be torn down when there is no reason for it. If a company is suspect, then give the name of the company, don't give big hints that cover at least 5 companies, 4 of which may be the best companies to work for, but fall into the category of an alphabetical letter, etc.

or county. Where I am I do not need it; though if I was cutting grass or landscaping I would where I live, makes no sense to me as I am providing a service, but very happy I don't have to have one. We pay personal property tax here and I would have to list all my business related equipment and pay taxes on it every year I was in business. So until I am told otherwise by my county, I will not be getting a business license.

you probably could, if you are actually "laid off." You would have to get a letter from your surgeon regarding your temporary disability status and take to the unemployment office and to Medicaid....but you know how Medicaid works, 1.5 pennies over the income limit, you don't get it.
