 what's nuts is when i was doing hospital transcription (in their MR department), the manager got really annoyed when i noticed that what i heard did not make sense. "you have to type what they say," i was told. fine. i did. and i would flag the print-out with a post-it: "is (history rectum) what you meant?" very polite.
and if i heard a term the meaning of which i didn't know, i'd look it up. the other MTs' attitude was, "i don't care what it means; i just want to know how to spell it." um...okay. MTs are automatons; not thinking beings w/ common sense...
