what would YOU do ?

I'm on the east coast in a hospital-based medical records MT position. The job is great as far as a nice hospital, union benefits, flexible hours, no dress code, nice people, nice boss, no productivity requirements, etc. The problem is I make $15.50/hr for 30 hours a week.  I now work weekend mornings and have 2 days off during the week, which is great. Out of the blue I received a call from another hospital, same distance away in opposite direction, offering me a radiology MT position. Same hours, days, union benefits - but the pay is $21.25 an hour.  It's a HUGE teaching hospital. I can see there will be much less 'freedom' in this position, if you know what I mean.

I can't live on $15.50 an hour and need to supplement my income by working from home for a private doc. I earn about $900 a month from him alone, and spend my days off typing, basically. If I take this new job - it comes to $1,400 a month EXTRA income for 37.5 hours a week.  What would you guys do?  Keep the 'easy' job and days off and work extra - or take the other job?  I have a great boss now - but what if she leaves tomorrow? All the perks can leave with her.  What to do ?

Thanks guys !
