Lies
Oh, I know what lies are, I hear them every day from the Shrub Chimp boy in the White House..Im like a human lie detector..I can detect lies from Bush, Cheney, Rummy, ugly..so ugly Rice, et. al. Oh, please, Rice, change your hairstyle..it makes you look sooooooooooooo ugly..
lies
I have come across this on my own records as well. Saying things that they didn't even ask or telling you opposite stuff. I was wondering the same thing. I believe it comes down to they are overworked (sometimes) and not really paying attention to the patient's needs and exactly what they are saying. Sometimes I really wonder if these docs actually treat us the correct way, isn't that scary?
How can you believe any of her lies...
site was hijacked...oops maybe not....totally against offshoring (except for the offshoring that she contracts) yeah, whatever, check the yahoo log, same person sending MTStars newsletters since 2001. SHE IS IS A LIAR.
Everything spewed from her mouth is a lie, this is no different.
lies?
It seems that the whole premise of the American system and way of life is based on lies these days. What happens at the top,(US Government) trickles down to the bottom.
Transcription schools have a lot to lose if they tell their students that outsourcing is a thing of the past. Who would go for an education as an MT if they (prospective students) thought that they were going to compete with cheap labor in India? This would level the playing field.
I also think the problem lies with all
the advertising/seminars that tell these people that they can make $50k a year and stay at home with their children! I have worked at home for the last 12 years and my children DO NOT stay home with me unless they are sick. I am not home to "babysit" my children, I'm working.
It just amazes me.
Of course the lies start now...
In fact it's sad to see how easy it is to DUPE Americans.
Not only are the elections a total joke, but whoever gets "chosen" by the true powers will be automatically LEGITIMIZED by the other party and the media - just like GEORGE W. FRAUD was. That SHOULD scare the bejesus out of people but instead they STIL increduously continue to believe in this "system" of government... instead of revolting like they should.
The election coming up is as fixed as any other ones: THE true POWERS THAT BE and THE MEDIA HAVE CHOSEN FOR all of us - THREE PEOPLE - one of whom will be president. The better candidates don't have a prayer in the corrupt US. because the PEOPLE will not stand up to the corruption.
Anyone who still believes we live in a democracy (or even a representative democracy) probably also believes in the Easter Bunny.
More industry lies...
1200 lines per day at 8 cpl is only $96.00 per day. At that rate, if you worked eight hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, you would earn just over $35K. Who does that? Anyone working full-time for an MTSO can expect to earn less than $25K and you will rarely, if ever, see a raise. This survey is, as they say, in no way scientific. It is all designed to make people think it pays to be certified, which it does not.
The problem lies with the MTSO
Any quality MTSO will have funds available at all times to pay their workers in a timely fashion whether they have received payment from their client or not.
Please keep in mind that MTSOs are paid a whole lot more money than they are paying out. They should be more responsible with managing their businesses. Don't you think for a minute that the owners are going without pay.
I think it is so pathetic that MTSOs who do not pay timely take MTs for granted the way they do. If the company I work for ever sends me a check that bounces, I will be on another company's site submitting a resume and testing that same day.
The company I work for does not offer direct deposit. Even though my check is always mailed on the proper date...it's still difficult for me because I have to wait on a check. If they don't offer direct deposit soon, I will be looking for another employer that does.
Don't care to hear the lies or is it don't
care to pay what you owe? It is easy to manipulate the minds of the forum readers. If you think some people even from the offshore are incompetent why did you continuously utilize the services of these people. Did you not get paid for the jobs done by these people?
therein lies the problem my dear sm
Its not about you! Its about what has to be done. Like I have told people I have trained for years, learn everything you can the BEST you can and be able and WILLING to do all work types and the possibilities are better. This is not about us, this is about the patient's behind the charts! I am sorry OPs bore you but they need to be done. I hope the next time you have surgery the MT is not too bored to transcribe your record CORRECTLY or it probably will be one being done over in India with horrible mistakes.
Somewhere over the years I see MTs who think this profession is about lines and cpl and have forgotten its about transcribing a legal medical document that can be legitimate in a court room setting if needed. Some of the stuff I see coming from supposed experienced MTs is an absolute embarrassment! I have often wondered when these medical records do have to be brought into a court room setting what other people think about the people who transcribe this stuff.
On the subject of boredom, I absolutely despise and I mean DESPISE opthalmology but I do it and can do it as well as the other. It has to be done!
My huge 19-pound cat lies on my footpedal
and I constantly have to chase him off of it. :)
No, the problem lies with the party that doesn't SM
keep enough money to pay people. That's the bottom line. It is no one else's fault.
I don't contract with a hospital. I contract with an MTSO.
Then USA Today spread lies and you know the truth.

The lies from physician put on my medical records
I posted on this before- had plastic surgery done, 2-3 things done at 1 time including tummy tuck, face and ? forgot but anyway, the face not done. Went home, no bruising, no swelling, went and looked at my records, not done, went to the office and told the physician he had not done, he forgot, gave me an IOU on his letter head. Bottom line, I asked for the return of the amount of the facelift only, he refused, was hostile, he was personally calling my house, threatening like, I had to have my job (at same hospital where he practiced)-I just said Karma will take care. Long story short, he did not dictate my operative report until EIGHT (8) months later, then falsified, and put the biggest facelift report in there you could image. My name is French sounding, unusual, and I know that was done intentionally. Big, big lies. I told lady over medical records falsified, she said I could just put an addendum in the chart.
I thought traditionally lies were to start AFTER....sm
being elected, but apparently it's okay these days to start the lies before even getting elected. What a bleak, dismal future this country has. I sure don't see any one of them that is worth the salt it takes to fill a shaker!
okay neatly correlated lies. and the trailer parks are really neat little hideaways the statistics
no excuse for not researching with google or even yahoo. my neighborhood is zoned to not allow trailer parks (ever wonder why???) thus my property if more valuable than another community that is not zoned against trailer parks. Now did you ever consider why communities would even think of having a zoning commission that would ban trailer parks. Community standards might come in to play and they don't want property values diminished. GOOGLE friend. The truth will set you free.

crock
I had a crock years ago, that was a 'crock'. So, I've never replaced it. I know lots of people who love theirs, and am starting to think about getting one. I need a small one (I'm single and have a roomie, and we're neither one very big eaters). If anyone has any ideas, feel free to forward them (I don't need a shrink - they've already thrown me back, but other suggestions are welcome hehe)
crock pot
I have used them twice, what a blessing!
It is definitely a crock and a rip off....

Not just them either........BOS - what a crock!!!

BOS is a crock!
The only reason the AAMT (or whatever they call themselves now) changes the BOS is to make money-- plain and simple! They think by changing commas, abbreviations, etc., they can call the previous BOS "outdated", so of course you have to spend money on buying a new one. The AAMT was ALWAYS about making money for themselves in any way possible instead of sticking up for the MTs that are supposed to keep up with all these changes while our paychecks get smaller every year. They want to certify foreigner MTs just so they can keep the money coming in. I dropped my CMT a long time ago because they kept changing the requirements for the CEs and I got tired of paying their ridiculous dues when they had done absolutely nothing for me in the 20 years I was certified. Who says the BOS is the "bible" of transcription anyway? Who died and left the power-hungry women of AAMT in charge anyway?
Such lies. Just yesterday I had a payroll problem. 1 phone call, person answered, and IMMEDIATELY
remedied the situation. There are always people there to help us. Wendy is just lying, and like I'll bet she's lying about her name! Its sooooooooo stupid to do this stuff when you're a disgruntled ex.
I never said you shouldn't have kids! Feeling guilty? I asked WHY you had kids.
You clearly stated in your post that you ship the kids off to camp all day, and they're TIRED AT NIGHT!! You know exactly what you said. You said it as a PERK - AS IN GREAT! They're gone all day, it wears them out, and so I shovel dinner in their mouths and off to bed! You can try to paint it any way you want, but YOU SAID IT. Again, I only hope your kids never hear you speak that way or write that way. Shame on you. Why have kids at all? Just another parent who has them, gets rid of them for day AND night, BRAGS ABOUT IT, and then calls ME wicked! Give me a break! Camp is fine - its WHAT YOU SAID AND YOU KNOW IT. Your own words showed your heart. Period.
The whole thing is a crock!

crock pot stuff, one more
This is something I made when my kids were growing up. SO EASY! A blade pot roast is what I always used. Put IN crockpot...sprinkle on a package of taco seasoning mix, NO LIQUIDS. Cook eight to 10 hours. Shred meat and serve on tortillas, put out chopped onions, chopped green chili peppers, avacado, chopped tomato, actually anything the kids like...let them make their own soft tacos. Enjoy.
cooking in crock pot right now
Either beef stew meat OR a chuck, whatever. One can cream of celery, one can cream of mushroom and one can french onion. Don't have do do a thing. Delicious
This is a crock - here are the facts about IQ
Okay, here are the facts for those who care (like me).
There are many standardized IQ tests. Some only go to 140. Some tests can go up to 180. So basically it depends on what IQ test was given just how relatively smart these people are. I seriously doubt any of these folks actually published something as personal as an IQ score and even if they did, I would question the validity. You cannot make a blanket statement when comparing IQs. One more time (for those who didn't read my last post) -- think about high IQs like this -- it is simply processing speed, just like your computer. Many IQ tests are auditory memory and/or processing skills -- i.e. you have $1.75 and three of the coins are dimes -- what are the other coins and how many of each. ..that type of thing. I stress that while IQ is important -- what is more important are other qualities such as character, learning from experience, attitude, resiliency, etc. I would also add that unfortunately research shows neurocognitive diseases such AD, etc. are very unkind to the extremely intelligent.
I have been a member of American Mensa for years....and find it to be a very valuable wealth of information -- ESPECIALLY in regard to the testing and studies they have done on gifted children. Very interesting research and publishing in their magazines of information on smart kiddos (like yours I am sure.)
: I left Houston and moved to Chicago increasing the average IQ of both places :)
AND if you are going to dis MENSA -- there is another organization called Intertel of which I am also a member whose IQ requirement is 99.9. What we actually do is covert -- but I am at last relieved that they can no longer harvest my eggs :)
Other crock pot food -
I have done a lasagna that turned out pretty good, I sometimes throw in some boneless skinless chicken breasts with some homemade BBQ sauce, have done chicken and dumplings which was good, spaghetti sauce. I would actually love some new recipes. The crock pot is so handy - I like to just throw stuff in and forget about it. My husband also works late a lot so he just lets me know when he is on the way and I can just throw on some veggies to go with whatever is in the crock pot.
What a crock! They don't really care what MTs
Their goal is to change the organization so it is open to IT professionals, vendors and others in order to gain larger membership numbers. The staff and leaders have realized the organization has such a lowsy reputation with MTs that we're not going to join and they've given up on us. They are not a professional organization for professionals. They consider themselves a professional organization for the finished product of the profession (the healthcare record), not for the workers they were incorporated to support. Any list will be totally useless to them. They've simply assigned you busy work that they don't really care about.
This whole organization is a crock
Someone has to pay for all their travel, first class all the way.
I am still shaking my head i amazement about the one biggie in the organization who got his CMT with only 1 year of at home training doing office notes - no hospital experience, etc. This shows how truly worthless the whole certification process is. Credentialing should reflect adequate training in all areas of the profession, and it certainly degrades the title if someone was able to get certified by doing doctor office/clinic notes.
lemon crock pot chicken
21/2 # chicken, cut up, 1/4 cup flour, 2 T cooking oil, 1 6 oz frozen lemonade,
thawed. 3 T brown sugar, 3 T catsup, 1 T vinegard, 2 T cold water, 2 T cornstarch. Combine flour with 1-1/4 tsp. salt. Coat chicken and brown thoroughly in hot oil. Place in crock pot. Return chicken to crock pot and cover to keep warm. Skim fat from liquid. Blend cold water into cornstarch and stir into hot liquid. Cook, stirring until thickened and bubbly. "Happy MQer" What a crock!
I totally agree with MQMT2 about how you should "spend" your check.

Crock pot recipe with milk
Months ago there was a recipe for something and onions and milk -- It wasn't chicken but that's what I substituted and it was awesome. I can't find the recipe. If the original poster will reproduce it, I won't lose it again -- promise!!!
BOS is a crock, but commas are still important!
Especially as demonstrated in the post above. I think we all know (or should know) when a comma will change the meaning of a sentence. I agree that is very important. I believe in the AHDI BOS, Third Edition, it states that comma punctuation points are not deducted on audits because most of them are open to interpretation anyway. Some sentences could take them or leave them, doesn't matter.
Somebody please tell me why these stupid hyphens are so important!!!! How can they change the meaning of a sentence? And another thing, who has the right to change the title punctuation in M.D. to MD. We tried that on our account, HA, HA, HA. Heard from those doctors right away and they did not like it one bit. These things are why I say BOS is designed to cut an MT's pay, make more money for the MTSOs, and to give QA something to do!
Kids are demanding and so is MT work. My question is how CAN you do this with kids, rather than how
When you have two young kids, 11 months apart, (like I stated they are now 4 and 5) and have been doing this since they were born with no help from their father and no family around, YES, the kids get neglected. Part time might work but living on one salary, part time, is not an option. How can you possible tell me that anyone with two young kids can stay at home and work a full-time, 8-hour shift, and still give their kids the attention they NEED. I dont care how good you are at multitasking and how great your organizational skills are. It is a very difficult thing to do. And I am offended by your post making it sound as if it is easy to do.
I do agree that it can depend on how well your kids behave and how well they are able to play on their own. But my kids were not able to play well on their own. They needed constant attention.
So please take the time to realize that there are people out there in different situations than your own.
Reading our posts should help you to understand that everyone has a different situation. I believe everyone should have the right to shares their experiences as it might benefit the original poster in her questions and concerns.
I dont think anyone should be bashed for taking the time out to write about their experiences. I dont usually come on here to argue but you really ticked me off with your post. And try reading the post correctly. I said next time around I would have put them in day care. What I DID do with them was set them up to an activity like art or put on a movie for them. Geez.
Stayed "because of the kids?" I say "leave because of the kids"
You're in no position to buy right now. Keep saving, keep paying down your bills, and for heaven's sake get rid of that dead weight of a BF you're living with. You can do better.
So, should I return the $75 (x2 kids) in music cards I got the kids for x-mas...sm
My son has been telling me about free music sites and I was very leary. How do they skirt the law Radguy?

call her by her first name. The little neighbor girl next door from the time she could speak called her Aggie (my mom's first name), and they were great buddies until the day my mom pased away.
I don't think there really is much in a name, but more in the respect you are given and the way you are treated. Personally, I kind of cringe inside when someone calls me Ms. Anything or God forbid, "maam" (makes me feel like Methuselah!) ... I'm always just plain Merrie. :-)
But, as someone pointed out, to each his own. If you want to be addressed a certain way, you have that right, and people should respect that. I'm glad you corrected the child ... hope it "sticks."

In my most humble opinion, I think credentialing is a crock. SM
You hit the nail on the head - its a test created by a group that requires you pay $100 or so for membership (I haven't checked what their fees are for a while), $80 for their rule book, and then $300 to take their test. And for what? A penny more per line, maybe?
Not to mention, the organization which is supposed to be setting the tone and the standards in the medical transcription industry continually and consistently subverts the interests of the American MTs that were the life's blood of their association at its inception back in the good 'ol days. Without us, their little club would not have grown as it did. Instead of focusing on the needs of the American MTs and championing causes that would improve our industry and our pay checks, they have embraced offshoring, calling it the globalization of the workforce and say it the wave of the future and its progress. And as they ride this wave of the future, they leave the American MT in their wake betrayed and alone and poor.
I have have a deep moral objection to giving one cent of my hard earned money to the AHDI. They can keep their credentials and their membership dues. Seeing "CMT" behind someone's name doesn't make me respect them anymore that them not being a CMT. Quite the contrary, I start thinking their $300 sold out another American MT. Good Job! You're a CMT, yay!
