Cannot send/receive mail in Outlook Express
I am able to connect fine to my dial-up ISP. I have not been able to receive/send any E-mail from Outlook Express today at all. I can receive the mail from that account through my Yahoo web site and am able to go to what is callled Mailstorm, through my ISP, where junk mail is filtered and so everything works fine that way. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
I have contacted my ISP via E-mail but have not received a response yet so that makes me wonder if there is not an issue on their end.
Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

The way I understand it if you dont keep below 10 to 15% QA you dont get the bonus even if your QA
score remains above 98% so you see as the other poster said you are between a rock and a hard place and I expect this is MQ way of getting out of paying a bonus to people. I see it this way anyhow. I plan to continue to send unclear things to QA and that is the way it is. I expect depending on the new pay scale on top of this they will be losing a lot of MTs anyhow as they continue to miser everyone out of money.
Do you honestly think they do. I dont. I dont think some of them can even understand some of the
reports they listen to quite frankly.

Usually there is no limit.
As an IC, you are not considered an employee where the company would only give you a certain amount of time. I have taken time off sporadically as an IC, and the company has not said a word. They actually thanked me for giving notice. I guess on the norm even notice isn't required. I just thought it courteous to give the company a few weeks to maybe find a replacement for that time period. It has never been a problem whether it be a day off or 10 days off. If I only need a day off though I don't even tell them, I just don't take the work. The IC position I have though is an actual IC position in that I am not assigned work. It is a typing pool basically, so if I do not want to work that day, I just don't take any work. It has neve been a problem. This type of arrangement in my opinion is true IC status.

There is not a limit, but for some reason it
deletes entries and you have to start all over again.

I, like you, want to make more money this year. . I am going to start by trying to limit my time surfing the net while working. . I have had a problem getting bored in the past. . but my resolution is to just stick to my 8-hour work day with maybe only 1 little internet break during the shift. .

I don't think there is a time limit -
I live in Georgia also and the only reason we ever had notes on the charts was for insurance purposes. If the note is not transcribed, you are not supposed to bill insurance. Other than that, there is really no legal reason that the chart has to be dictated.
Now, ethically and for continuation of care purposes, yes, it needs to be done.
The doctor I worked for used to dictate, but it might get transcribed in a week and it might get transcribed in a month.

You can but you may blow up autocorrect because there is a limit

Those are not bad line counts. It really depends on the docs you can get and if they say literally the same thing again or again or say *use my normal.* I used to for years do 500-600 lines an hour when I had docs who were fast talkers who used all kinds of normals and I had a much smaller pool of them (say 30-40 docs). I now work from a HUGE pool of docs, all acute care, from 5 different hospitals with very different account specifics for each hospital. A good day for me is 250-275 lines an hour no matter how fast I slam the keyboard. You may be doing the best you can do with the accounts you have. :-)

It will not affect MT's. I think the limit is 250GB and
the tech people with my company says an MT uses around 2GB/month. Even if that is a conservative figure, still leaves you a lot of GB.
also remember that they limit how much you can withdraw
from your Paypal account every month, otherwise they'll require you to upgrade your account which tacks on another fee.
I only use Paypal to get paid as a last resort and then I use the fees as a writeoff. If I can wait for a snail mail check, I will.

i will NEVER understand this business anymore, and that is why it is time for me to get out of it.
Experience doesn't matter anymore. if they can pay someone as cheap as possible to get the work done, they will do it. And the MT's that accept it hurt the rest of us that deserve more.

Doctors and lawyers, supposedly respected business owners, etc who really did not lose that much, at least not to the point where they can't recover on their own. Mobile broadband 5GB limit with ALL carriers
I signed up with Sprint last year when it was unlimited, and starting in July 2008, they put a cap of 5GB, which is what all the other carriers had done also. That said, if you are using the connection mainly for work, the cap should not be a problem. I downloaded a program that keeps track of my usage as well as use the Sprint site to check it occasionally. You can't be downloading tons of MP3s or watching a lot of youtube or other video things during each month, but it doesn't have to be completely avoided either.
RE: You will not receive a 1099 if
you made less then $600, but the IRS will receive a copy of your earnings regardless. You have to claim all of your income no matter what the amount. Of course, if you made under $600, most likely the tax will be minimal if any.
I receive 2 different CMT incentives.
Two of the companies I work part-time for provide a CMT incentive. One of them pays an extra 1 cent per line and the other, I get 0.005 (half a cent) per line for a CMT incentive. These are on top of my production incentives and quality incentives (at one company).
It does mean extra money and I know what it means to me personally.
Nevermind the naysayers here. They are bitter about quite a long list of things in the MT world.

It is rare, but not extinct to receive a
reply regarding how you fared on your test. For those of you who are presently going through this situation, I would suggest going back and reading the email you sent requesting the information. Often times online, the inflections in our words are misconstrued. You may be wasting time imaging the worst.
Second solution; just forward a copy of your original email to them; it only takes 10 seconds.
How to receive daily digest?-please help
Many, many months ago I somehow figured out on this site how to receive a daily digest through email each day and I enjoy that. Now I would like to tell a couple MTer's how to receive this Daily Digest as well, but am not able to find the directions on this site again. If anyone could tell me how to sign up for the Daily Digest, would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
I receive dss files with new version of ES
I just downloaded the newest version of ES, 4.17, a couple of days ago and I receive dss files fine. There was a couple of glitches in the "settings" which I had to change, but now plays fine.
Another possibility: I know when I first downloaded the free ES on my second computer, I could not listen to the files, but it was because I had a different foot pedal on that computer and so I had to go in and make some changes concerning the foot pedal settings in ES.
Are you able to play the files using just the hot keys? If you would like to compare the "settings" which I have on my computer for ES to yours, let me know and I can do that either by email or phone.
How do you receive your dictation from clients
I had used transcriptiongears call in system at one time, but it was too expensive for me. I want to try to pick up another client, but wondered what is the most cost effective method to receive their dictations. Any advice?
It will still work, but will not allow you to receive updates.
