check your file type after you hit open on the wav player. Tell it to show you all files. Your first file may be a wav and the second a dvf or some other file type.

I used their wave player when I had an
account with .dss files. It worked fine.
Starting job using Olympus Player/pedal - does this have a good player with slow down speeds - I do
Until now I have always used company software with player included. I hate to spend money and find out the player is mickey mouse!!
Thanks- you may e-mail me if you prefer.
new job woes... :(
UGH! I just started a new job with a great company. The people are wonderful. The training is great...but... I am so frustrated! I have typed for 6 years and thought I was ready to take on bigger and better challenges. At my previous job, on eScription, my production was great! I could edit about 1500 lines in 4 hours. I have not typed in years. Now, I am typing again, and it took me 8 hours to type 51 minutes of ESL op notes. My brain is fried and my body hurts. How do ladies do this? I am no where near 1000 lines for the day and I don't even know if that is doable with these docs and my fat fingers. Is it going to get easier or am I in way over my head here? What do I do? Just venting... thanks for reading.
new job woes
How long have you been on your new job and what does your new company say about productivity requirements and how long you have to meet them? Even with experience new accounts, docs and platforms take time to learn, especially the ESL's and mumblers of the world. I know where you are coming from because I constantly change accounts, and bounce back and forth from VR, editing, and straight transcription not to mention they are all on different accounts...it isn't easy so don't be too hard on yourself.
re: lawyer woes
He can in fact charge you for the phone calls (consult) about the car, but not the service he failed to perform regarding this.
As far as the car title goes, he can request in the divorce that your husband sign it over to you (possibly arguing that you paid for it, etc.), but I don't think unless a judge orders it, your ex has to even sign it over, unfortunately. In my case, the car wasn't yet paid for and was in my husband's name. He suggested that we go and get the title/loan transferred into my name if this is what we agreed on. Technically speaking, however, the loan was in his name and if he so chose, he could have taken the car. That's why I say a judge has to be the one to order the transfer should the ex refuse.
I'd definitely confront the lawyer and ask him why the charges when he failed to even act on your request. That's bull**** in my opinion. I'm quite sure he's made a good deal of money off this already. Good luck.
More Autotext woes.
So I started (or so I thought) building my Autotext back up because I LIKE using F3 and only having to remember 1 abbreviation to get 5 different expansions. My line count went down 500 lines going from having it to not having it.
BUT when I went to save it and copy it to my new file, it was the same size as when I started, and I checked the normal.dot several time while I was working and it was always the same exact size as when I started. What do y'all think is going on?
My Foot Pedal Woes
I am going to try that setting. Thanks much!!
Foot Pedal Woes
I had been using an IN-BMG foot pedal with an adapter while working using MT World software. Well, all of a sudden, my foot pedal would not work. The fastforward started playing garbled, and the play would not play. The fastforward would just skip to the end. I then tried to use an Infinity IN-BMG foot pedal. It too did not work. I ordered a new one thinking this one obviously had a problem. Well, the new one does not work. I have tried six different settings. The pedal is not even recognized. Can anyone please help me? I would really be thankful!! I really want to work for this company and do a good job. They are going to get tired of my problems.
My Foot Pedal Woes
I figured the pedal with the adapter is shot. What I want to know if anyone else works with MT World that has a solution. I would like to use the Infinity IN-USB pedal that I have. I don't know if it needs to be programmed or what, in order for me to use it. It will not work with MT World, but I think it can. Help, anyone!!
Foot Pedal Woes
No, it is not for Zylomed. I did work for this company for about three days, and then, I added some Escription software, and it has not worked since. I am wondering if other software is conflicting? Anyway, I really want to continue to work for this employer, as it is radiology, and I love it!! But, it doesn't look good.
Ugh More foot pedal woes. sm
Why is my curser arbitrarily jumping all over the page, especially if I have brackets in my text. I switched to the foot pedal from using hot keys in order to speed up my production, but that just ain't happening with this annoying jumping curser.
Anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?
Anyone else in Northeast have internet woes?
All weekend the connectivity has been absolutely awful. I have Time-Warner Cable (formerly Adelphia). Anyone else having problems or is it just because I had a mental meltdown Friday and this is a sick form of retribution from the gods?
to carry on a long drawn out thread on supervisor's woes below
Why in the world if it is so awful, so stressful, so thankless and pay is not that much more (someone posted $3 dollars an hour below), why do you continue to supervise?
Also the general tone of the supervisors is kind of like they don't really like or respect the MTs. Is that healthy?
wave pedal
When I looked up wave pedal, I saw this ExpressScribe, so do I assume that is what this is all referring to? I have been typing for one doctor on the side and he now wants to go tapeless. Someone suggested to him that I look into wave pedal. Can anyone clue me in. As of right now, I cannot get high speed internet or DSL where I live, only satellite. Any other suggestions, please clue me in. Thx.
VR is definitely the wave of the future
Integris owns several large hospitals and numerous smaller clinics in Oklahoma City (near where I live) and they now do all their radiology transcription using VR. They only employ about five transcriptionists to do editing and what little transcription they need to have done. And their main hospital is the largest one in Oklahoma City. I don't know exactly how many radiology MTs they used to employ, but I do know they were staffed 24/7 and probably had at least 10 or more people working during peak times.
Actually, I think for a while this will work to the advantage of at-home transcriptionists, because it will be cheaper for smaller facilities to have a transcription company handle their work than for them to invest in a VR system. But eventually, yes, I think we will go the way of the dinosaurs....
wave/dss files.
I click on the attachment then "save" to "My Documents". I use the Olympus player and can either import it into the player or just click on the file in documents and the player will come up.
All N One Wave Transcriber
Thanks for the advice. After using the 30-day free trial I found on a web site I've decided to stick with Digital Voice Editor (FS85USB). I don't like the pedal nearly as much but I guess I can live with it because the software is excellent. The All N One is okay, the other is just better. Thanks though. I appreciate it.
Wave Files?
Help! I have a Dr who is trying to send me his dictation thru a wave file and he can't get it to go thru because it is too big (102 mb) Is there anything I can tell him to do to make it smaller, like compress the file? Thanks!
Do you pay for the wave pedal and software? I don't.
I rent the computer with the pedal and everything for $50 a month.
I have never spent any money on the software -- MQ has provided it free.
They reimburse my DSL 100% every month. When I hooked up to it, it only cost me $12.95 and they reimbursed that as well.
I can makeup time I lost to bad weather. I don't like it, it's not my first choice, but I certainly don't expect them to PAY me just because there is a storm and it is safest not to have the system plugged into power. Even when I worked in a local hospital on an hourly basis, in bad weather we were off the computers...but I also was available for that hourly rate to file and do other things they wanted. I'm not doing that for MQ when I'm able to type for that reason so they don't owe me anything but the chance to make it up or forfeit any action if it caused me to miss my production.
I'm really surprised though, if you are having to pay extra for your pedal and software, etc. Sorry to hear that.
I have extra wave pedal
What is your email address? I have extra wave pedal. You may have it - no charge. ssc
Nonprofit MTSOs! The new Wave!! LOL! nm
It isn't the wave files that are the problem, it is the
program you are using to play them and an incompatibility problem with it and your foot pedal. What program are you using to play the files and what foot pedal - meaning is it USB, game port, or serial port?
Question about wave pedals...please help
I know this may seem like a simple question to most but I have always worked through phone lines to receive dictation. I did purchase a USB port pedal from Expresscribe a couple of years ago in hopes of finding part time work to go along with my full time but I never could get it to work. My computer would not recognize that it was connected. Anyway, I am will to try again but at $189 for a universal pedal, I do not want to get stuck with something I can't use. So, if anyone has the time to fully explain this to me I would appreciate it. How does it work? Can I use my MP3 player on my computer? If I can use my MP3 player, wouldn't any pedal work in the game port? Sorry for the questions but I would appreciate some answers as I am really looking for something I could move around with, like on vacations or business trips with my husband.
Trying to download a wave file
I am having trouble downloading a PC-Dart dictation into express scribe... any suggestions?
New Logitech Wave Keyboard...anyone have this??
I am interested to see if anyone has used this keyboard yet...thanks...
No way. It's a huge wave that's just going to keep growing

I use the microsoft wave keyboard
I'm sorry I didn't go to that link but it sounds like my MS keyboard. I went to a wireless one a few months back b/c it was on sale and had bonus wireless mouse so I thought I would try it. I do like it; I tend to prefer a clacky keyboard (showin' my age!) and it clicks and clacks just enough to keep me happy without being too "hard." The positioning of the keys works for me. It's not as split as my old ergo keyboard, but those are hard to find in the stores anymore so I "made do."
Loading a wave file
Can someone help me? I just got a Infinity pedal to play wave files and I just loaded Express Scribe's free download.
Here is my question: I get my files via an email attachment, so how do I download it into Express Scribe. Do I have to save the attachment somewhere else in a word file or something and then load it from there? Hope this makes sense. Again, I'm new at this so anything will help. Thank you in advance for the help.
Wave pedal issues ...
Anyone ever had a wave pedal start to go bad? I have a USB pedal that is just three years old, and it's starting to flake on me. It will stop on it's own or jump in the audio without me propting it. Maybe there are loose wires?
I'm tempted to open the thing up and see what I can do (though I'm totally clueless). Just wondering if anyone knows about this stuff or has had the issue and fixed it. If nothing else, I'll buy a new one (or ebay one).
Aren't pedals supposed to last longer than three years?!
I have the Logitech Wave and I love it...

Any opinions on All N One Wave Transcriber?
I am looking for a new transcriber software kit. The All N One Wave Transcriber by Martel Electronics looks good but they don't have a free trial download. I don't want to buy without knowing anything about it. I need something that I can see all the files that have been downloaded to me and that I can listen to and name file by file. I have a doctor that many times does not complete the dictation in one sitting - may continue it days later. I need to be able to search through files to see if I have the continuations or not. Most, from what I have found, don't have this option. I have Sony's Digital Voice Editor and love it but really dislike the pedal so am trying to find something similar in another software. Does anyone out there have experience with this software and pedal (All N One)? Thanks in advance for any advice.
I used their software/foot pedal. It is just a wave
file program.
Love my Logitech Wave keyboard sm
It's not as split apart as the tons of other ones I've tried over the years, it's wireless and comes with a wireless mouse as well, smaller than most others, and not as high to fit on my keyboard drawer. I saw it at Costco here in Washington the other day; not sure if they carry it at all Costcos or not.
Anyone know of system that converts files to wave...help please
I am a small company and would like to know if anyone knows of a system that takes the dictation and converts it to wave files and these can then be sent to any number of medical transcriptionists? I want a system that does nto require a lot of phone lines because of being a little remote, but would allow more than one doctor to dictate at a time and allow me to move files as need to each MT. I was hoping to find a dial in system like this rather than the hand helds because that is relying toooooooo much on them docking the thing, loading it etc.
any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about the Logitech Wave, I have that and love it...
very comfortable and there is not an adjustment period like you have with some of the others...
Have Bose surround system and the Wave Radio with
CD. Have had the Bose surround sound system for at least 7 years, still going strong, and the radio/CD for about 5 years, still sounds as great as new. There is no other stereo/sound system that has such rich sound, and you won't be disappointed! Order directly from Bose and get the interest-free monthly payments, easier that way, but definitely worth every hard-earned penny.
Have my own ftp site for receiving wave files...return completed
reports to the doctor the same way... secure, safe, easy. I purchase the space from startlogic for $90 a year. Hope this helps!
Looking for a machine or something that will convert micro tapes to wave files
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Does anyone know why the wave volume control on my master volume controls... SM
on my PC would turn itself all the way down? It's driving me nuts! It's like it resets itself to the low possible setting and when I go to work, I'm turning my speakers up full blast trying to hear and when I check my volume controls on my PC, the wave setting is turned all the way down. I turn it back and everything is loud and clear and I have to turn my speakers back down and then I'll do something the internet and BOOM it resets itself!
I feel bad because I've been accusing my kids of messing with the controls and they have been swearing they didn't do it and I haven't exactly believed them, but it has happened twice to me this evening while I'm working and I know no one else has touched my PC but me.
another player
I also have Audacity (for my legal work). PC World has several listed as well. You might try this link: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,22513,00.asp
She said she had a DVD player for the car so it would not be that bad - sm
I drive to the Philly area (4 hour drive w/o stops) with the kids at least 4 x a year. I use my laptop (my travel computer) and play movies for the kids to watch, the one reason I bought a laptop with a DVD drive. It is great. My husband built a little table to put the computer on in the backseat with them (Suburban so plenty of room), and some of the time the kids play with their Barbies, read, gameboys, Pixtar, etc. and the other part they watch a movie or 2 (they are short movies for the most part). The trip is not too bad, and the kids don't fight, wonderful. Takes about 4.5-5 hours depending on how many food and pee stops, I carry a potty seat with me so that helps save some time and I can stop anywhere basically. So it is possible to make it pleasant, of course the kids will want/need to run about a bit when you get there after sitting strapped in all that time, but they will be fine otherwise, and I speak from much experience in this as I have been doing this for 7+ years now. The DVD player makes a BIG difference in how smoothly a long drive goes.
What .wav player are you using?
.
wav player
Sorry to change the subject and hope this is the right board. But, I have a problem. I was testing with 2 reports to transcribe. My wav player only would let me do the first one. It is rather hard to explain but I could not access the 2nd file. I shut my computer off and tried again but it would not let me have access to it. Does anybody know what I mean? The file is unzipped and I can click on it but no audio comes up. This is on both. I just got this player and, of course, cannot find the directions so if anyone can help I would appeciate it.
I have DSS player, the doc who uses
it has a dock that is attached to his computer, he puts his player in the dock and it is able to send the voice files to my computer. Not sure all the mechanics of it on his end, but if your docs have used it before they should already have the dock and be able to send.
Dss Player for Mac
Olympus dss player for mac is tho only mac compatible program. Purchas the AS2300 kit for around $199.
What is the best .wav player
I currently use Express Scribe and wanted to get some opinions on other .wav players out there as far as dictation sound quality goes.
Thanks!!
Are you using a player with it?
Not sure if you're asking about programming your pedal, or if you've done that and it still won't work.
If that's the case, make sure you've checked the correct player. After you sign on, click options and then select the player you're using.
Vxp player?
Has anyone been able to install VXP player on Vista?
WAV player
Does anyone have any favorite WAV players that work with a foot pedal? I have Express Scribe, but the sound quality is not the best. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
perhaps it's not the player...
perhaps it's the recording itself. or your headphones/speakers. I use Express Scribe and some files are clear as a bell, some are muffled...it all depends on the file format, the recording device, etc...in other words not on your end but on the dictator's end.
