Reading your posts made me think you were talking about one of my granddaughters.
She also is such a loving kid but was *the problem child* at elementary school, very easily frustrated, a bit slower to learn and easily distracted. They had her tested privately with a psychologist for the all too dreaded ADD/ADHD. It turned out she has a learning disability in the cognitive department, so they were able to work on helping her adapt her education despite of this. Her psychologist was her best and staunch advocate with the schools and once they put some plans into place, the transformation was astounding.
She graduated this year with honors and won a full academic scholarship.
My son and his wife were also very involved in the schools in the elementary days and did see what went on. They could not believe the different child they observed in school versus the one at home. It is so easy to pull your hair out with worry and anger when you know your child is not normally how they keep labeling them, that sometimes, (and I'm guilty as sin) your emotions over ride logic in dealing with this.
My advice would to nip this problem now! Have her evaluated by a professional outside of school to see if you can figure out what's going on with your son. Then, you will have support and backing to deal with how to educate your child in the way that's best for him.
Schools these days tend to be overcrowded, and it's a fact of life. They start these kids learning things I can not even remember learning until much later, but that's also life these days. It may be beneficial to try to root out the sources before taking him out all together.
Hoping thins resolve for you soon.
