I am the "different experience" poster from below and I just want to mention that my menopausal symptoms were not "light" or "mild" and I do continue to experience night sweats nightly. I just choose not to take any hormonal replacement and deal with my symptoms on my own. They will stop eventually, as all women's symptoms will, unless you continue to take the hormones. The longer you take them, the more "addicted" to them you become. Women 100 years ago never needed that stuff and to me, it is just another ploy by the pharmaceuticals to make us think we HAVE to have them. I personally think ALL prescription medications are nothing but poison and if I did not need thyroid replacement, I would not take that either. I actually changed from Synthroid to the "natural" Armour medication, and had to "explain" to my doctor why I wanted to change. He would not do it, though, and sent me to an endocrinologist to do it. Armour has both T3 and T4 in it, where Synthroid only has T4 and the docs say we don't need T3, but if we didn't need it, our thyroids would not produce it. I just know I feel better taking it as opposed to Synthroid,,, but I got off the subject. I feel sorry for you women who seem to feel you HAVE to have these hormones. Remember the tobacco companies??? Telling us nicotine was not addictive...well, I see the same thing happening here. I personally will not allow that to happen to me. I will not let pharmaceuticals rule my life. Their poisons are only going to hurt me, not help me. I am also a horse lover and I detest what they did to those poor animals to addict women to their products. Well, I will get off MY soap box now, sorry, but this is just my opinion and I thank the poster above for feeling as I do about the horses.

There's a big difference between expressing a different opinion
and belittling people, judging them, calling them names, or accusing them of being lazy alcoholics.  THAT is what I'm talking about.  It has nothing to do with a little difference of opinion, so please don't try to put words in my mouth.  Some of the posters here are so harsh and judgmental that you wonder what their family thinks of them.
