Time for a new job, it sounds like.
Let them find someone who will tolerate this kind of thing.
Ooh, that sounds good. What time should I be there?
We're probably having leftovers.  Tacos, sloppy joes, potato ham soup, and kielbasa.
Sounds time consuming, actually
I suppose it could be productive if someone really dedicated themselves to learning a word for every key on their keyboard but I don't see how it could actually work...seeing as how there are more words in the english language than there are letters on the keyboard.

Sounds like something a court reporter might do but even then they have to use a stenograph to do that with, you can't just do it with a regular keyboard.
I love the concept of a homeowners situation.
My mom's development has one and no one is allowed to hang clothes outside (too trailer-esque), they have to check with the association to see if the color of the drapes in their front windows are okay, and so on.

On the other hand, our development does not have an association and our next-door neighbor just put up the ugliest rust-colored old fogey looking awning over her front door, the guy down the street has a fence that looks like a medieval fortress, and so on.

If you want to keep an attractive neighborhood that way, a homeowners association is a must. Otherwise you never know if your neighbors will have taste buds up their butts and create an eyesore that the rest of the neighbors just have to deal with.
Remembering the concept that funerals are for the living, I would

take my daughter. You say, "I feel uncomfortable going to a funeral where I have only met the mother of this child once (at a birthday party)" but you aren't going for the mother. You are going for your daughter. I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for you to teach your daughter how to care for others at a time of loss. It is best to start with funerals of people that aren't that close to you, in order to introduce some of these ideas without personal grief getting too much in the way. Then when Grandma, Grandpa (or closer) go, it's not all completely new to the child.

Not a new concept, Hope. Works this way in all industries.
If you can't give yourself a break, at least give us one.

I personally enjoy VR work and make better money, even with a reduced rate. It's faster. Easier.

Sounds like it's time you established some rules
and demanded some respect. Your husband needs to respect the fact that you are working. Does he treat you with the same contempt in other areas of your life? It might be time to reevaluate the relationship and start communicating with him in a different way. He might be one of the trainable ones.
Sounds like time to find different co to test for.

I'm no sheep, heck, I'm not even religious. But I have grasped the concept of what a lie is.

Love the show and the concept!! Wish that were me with that kinda problems...

There was no announcement of this policy change? Sounds like it's time to go. nm
m
it's TASTE. You have lost sight of the original concept of the posts.
i'm not doing an ethical evaluation on why i am drawn to toby keith or if he may be gay or rock hudson's qualities if he was gay or jude law.  it is just the type of guy women are drawn to and why.  shallow has nothing to do with the discussion.  but you aren't paying attention are you?
Agree to the concept but what I would offer is to show the doc the advantages of going digital and
most of them want to buy new toys anyway. As an MTSO, I stay up on the latest technology that will help all of us do our jobs better. For example, what if he has a stat report? That can be dictated and posted to the FTP site, done and back to the office in 15 minutes. Can't do that with tapes. Plus with digital files, you can copy them as you transfer, so there's a file in the software program, one on the ftp site and one at your office, just in case somebody gets erase happy. I feel the quality is better. Once in a while I get somebody who has a phobia about the big bad Internet but I would at least sit down with them and explain some things. Most fear comes from ignorance anyway.
Sounds like the Marines at your house! I'm really glad you "schedule" some quality time wi

your kids!  I think you are way harsh with your 15-year-old stepdaughter.  What's wrong with helping with homework?  Not giving her the answers, but sitting with her and explaining things?  I help my 14-year-old with his homework and I check everything he does for errors.  If he makes mistakes, I sit down with him and explained what he did and have him do it over.

As fars as my kids getting up on their own - my kindergartener gets up without the aid of an alarm clock because she is an early riser, but my teenager has to be gotten up and personally I don't see what is wrong with that.  They are TEENAGERS!

My kids have chores and earn an allowance each week.  They must keep their rooms clean.  My son takes out the garbage, cleans the bathroom, and helps me do the dishes.  My daughter takes turns helping me do the dishes and sweeps the kitchen floor and feeds the animals.

My kids are spoiled, but what's the point in being a working mom if you can't spoil your kids every now and then?

This is a very basic computer skill/concept. You copy files to another drive using Explorer.

There are very detailed instructions in the Help files that accompany Windows. You can read those for more information.

Basically, you open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer). Locate the files you want to copy, highlight and right mouse click. Choose Copy. Now, find the location where you want to copy these files (usually another drive like D: or H:, whereever the flash/jump/thumb drive is located) and paste the files there.

Working full time at home with small children is hard but part time works great
is almost impossible. You will either have to work when your spouse is home or for only a few hours during the day and then more when they are asleep. I work part time at home and my kids (2&5 now) have done very, very well. They are great kids, very well behaved, don't get into much. I stop working to check on them/give them some attention every hour or so while I work (5 hours each afternoon or so) and they get all my attention in the morning and at night. It has worked out beautifully for us.
Yeah, our choc. lab does that from time to time - makes it interesting!- nm

Cannot legally require you to commit time to them as an employee and then not pay you for that time.

full-time in office/ part-time at home
I currently work full-time in a physician's office and have started part-time online. My hope is to eventually go full-time online; however that will be done the road for a single mom with a son in college. My suggestion would be try to type part-time for a MTSO and see how that goes i.e work and money with a decision down the road for ultimately being home all the time. A guaranteed paycheck is always a necessity for me. Hope this helps.
I work part-time hours with full-time pay...
I made over 26,000 this year...
I work a full time and a part time, but not sure about 2 full-time...
My hubbie is disabled and I am the only one in my family working also, so I fully understand. You will not have a day off at all working 2 full-time as that is going to be the only way you will get in all your hours. I work one job in the mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the other from 5 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and do have off one day a week, but if I had to get in the extra 15 hours to make the other job full-time I am not sure how I would do that other than lose my only day off. Also, make sure you have your account specifics in front of you at all times because you will get yourself confused as to who is what and having notes will help in that area. Good luck to you, as it is possible, but forget about your house being clean, having any social life, etc. Feel free to email me personally if you just need someone to talk to, as I have been where you are and still am.
Maybe they will. Give it time. It takes time to set up links.
OSI, Precyse, etc tell us more.
full time, part time, statutory
newly defined full time...

newly defined part time....(which is an added classification)

I believe statutory just was not mentioned because there is nothing new about the definition of statutory.
full time/part time/statutory
The definition of full time is new.

There is a new classification called part time.

I believe statutory was not mentioned merely because that has not changed and they do not receive PTO/benefits.
I work 1 full-time, 2 part-time....nm

its a waste of time yet you take the time to respond?

**yawn time for your bed time old thinker*
Hippie??  What pray tell is a hippie?  Im not judgmental..I dont care what another is partying about or with or whom they are with..Im not a cop or the warmonger in the White House..far be it from me to judge another..You, however, by your post seem to have grown old before your time..I recommend you just graze on your back yard grass and leave us **alive ones** alone..**yawn**, time for you to go to bed now, hun?  Bye..bye..old person..
I do believe she is good enough, and has more than proved that time and time again. NM

part-time or full-time
I'm curious. Are you FT or PT? Thanks.
4 week's time or 4 weeks' time
Does anyone know this one. I will see the patient back in 4 week's time, 4 weeks' time or 4 weeks time. Can't seem to find this in any of my reference books. Thanks in advance.
1 full time and 1 part time for now
I am still pretty new, so that is all I am taking on. I may take on more after I get more experience, if possible.
I never denied that I need a break from time to time, but
I was just stating how I took her post and the fact that I am worried about how my son will react since he is already getting quite upset. But, yes, any parent SHOULD be able to admit that they need a break from time to time...we're only human too! :)
even ISPs have to do maintenance from time to time--sm
and most do this during the wee hours of the morning when MOST people are sleeping and not using the internet. They need to upgrade their services and virus protection just like the home users. This is probably what occurred.
I recently requested time off for the first time...
(3 days off) and gave 2 weeks notice but was asked by my boss to give more notice next time.  I thought 2 weeks was decent, but next time I will give at least 30 days.
Do we enter each time there is a new prize, or just the one time?

thanks.

that could be spent typing. Instead of stopping to listen, then typing to catch up, I scan AHEAD of the dictation as I type, looking for upcoming questionable areas.

Still going strong!
SO the little one takes up your time yet you have time?
LOL
I have side this time and time again
It's crazy how these nationals or even smaller MTSOs think that we should be working set hours as an IC or even set lines as an IC.  I totally stay away from those companies.  Also, stay away from the ones that keep you on messenger (like Advanced in Oregon) or require you be logged in their platform, etc. or require a time clock as an IC.  This is against the law.  They cannot clock you and expect you to work certain hours under an IC status.  They are getting away with it though, time and time again.  It's a shame what we MTs put up with in this profession for pennies!!!
you have no time to switch from board to board? how can you have time to look for the drug?
x
Does anyone know if you are a part time employee for 1 company and part time IC for another can you
still claim deductions for IC on your income tax even though you are one of each.
Depends on how part time the part time jobs are.
You can do it. You just have to work out a schedule you can live with.
$32K/part time 6 months/full time 6 months
I have kept my child home with me half the year, but when pre-K started I began working full time. Helps to only have a main account and one backup account for the 2nd year now, so my abbreviation program rocks and rolls when I focus.
Sounds like you are SM
working for one of the few remaining good companies.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if they all at least made an effort to even out the work?  When you factor in VR and the number of newbees that some companies hire, who just don't have the experience to do the difficult dictators, that makes a sorry life for those who do have the experience and can do it.  Which is why I say if "anyone" isn't happy with what they are doing, then they should look for a company that recognizes their MTs as human beings.  I think part of the problem is that the bigger companies are run by "suits" who don't have a clue about actual medical transcription, all they see is the bottom line and any way to make that bottom liine bigger is fine and dandy with them.  I even heard one of those "suits" say once that it didn't matter if all their MTs quit, they were just typists and the manager could just go out and hire some more.
Sounds like you have too much going on. Take

things in little bits.  (Un)pack/clean for 15 minutes and then work for a bit.   Set a realistic goal to work - say an hour that you can make yourself work, then get up and (un)pack/clean, do laundry, etc. and then come back and work.  If you can afford to work a few less hours do it.  It will give you time to complete the move and give you a break from work.

We are remodeling/redecorating and our house is total chaos.  Some days I can jump right in and get something accomplished and other times I put on blinders and just ignore it all.  Some days I dig right into work and knock out my lines, other days I'm on-line more than working.

Take a break, get refocused, and then try out different routines.  I think we all go through burnout at least once a year and sometimes it takes a bit to get refocused.

Sounds about right
