the biggest injustice to our profession are people who 'gladly' take on more than is necessary, for less money; people who do not expect they are worth more, who work longer hours for less; people who have the attitude that we do not deserve any more than our paychecks and we are 'happy' to just have jobs...
now, I am not saying MTs so much feel this way, but I believe lots of times managers and higher-ups spread that idea, and lots of women latch on because we do not think we are worth a lot...
lots of men have the right idea about work, and I always hoped more men would do this job, because eventually we would all then be paid more.
since women flooded the job market, we have gone backwards in pay, pension, health care, etc etc.
NOW before any gets too upset, I also was a martyr at my jobs when I was a younger woman...always trying to do more for less, cut corners, save companies money, etc. I regret it now.
my advice? team up with this guy, find out how he gets more money, and make it work for YOU.
