Again, DON'T go with a for sale by owner agent. Buy Owner is the same thing.

No you wouldn't. You wouldn't like being required to work 7 days per week, mandatory, just like a sweat shop. Of course YOU can make huge amounts of money too if you work 18 hour days.
Of course, I should add that the previous pay was MQ and after the changes that

I have an HP...my previous one was also
an HP and I loved it. My main problem is getting sound to record. I have found that most of my programs work well with Vista. I did speak to HP today and they told me to uninstall sound card and reinstall but I have not tried it yet. They said if it did not work I would have to send it in :(
not this job, but previous one did.

No, never. I would have been an owner of a
I would have loved to own a floral shop, catering business, and photography studio that specializes in weddings. Now, I'm too broke to take classes in photography or start my own business. I should have done it while I had the chance, but I was too secure with the money I was making before and thought it was a lucrative field to be in.
Maybe the cop knows the dog owner.nm

The owner
should be happy you left a blank if you weren't sure of it. It's much better to blank than to guess on somethin, and even people in the business a long time have issues when beginning something new.
OV/owner
I have 15 years experience and when I first read your note, even I had to stop and scratch my head for a second for what OV meant, (LOL) but I have it in my expander. I agree with the other post in that the owner should be glad you left a blank than to guess at something. I like to think that would be the mark of a good Transcriptionist to leave a blank rather than gamble at making a mistake. Also, when we learn new things, it can be stressful because you are trying to do a good job in areas where we are all new and perhaps learning new things and words. I say, keep up the good work and we all learn from our blanks whether we are new in the business or not. She was really harsh to make that comment.
Who was your previous employer? I'm more
interested in making "insane amounts of money" than if an employer is nice to me. That's my personal preference.
Mind telling me who your previous was?
Thx.
Given her previous behavior
she would probably accuse you of molesting her if you did try to hug her.
My previous HIM director was sm
a true psychowitch. One day nice as pie and would give you the world. The next day, a bug would bite her and you would spend the next two weeks on all the garbage reports, worst ESL's. I got out. She liked me but didn't like the fact that I didn't suck up or tattle. She hid in a meeting on my last day of work. I went on call but got so busy with my new job that I wasn't able to come in three times when she called so she fired me. How's that for being a witch. She had one other gal on call for a year that didn't come in when she was called and as far as I know, she is still on call. Go figure.
previous posts
I did read all the previous posts, as you indicated. You did give a lot of information. I will let you know in a week or two what I think.
No the previous poster, but I have one...
I like this one. Not sure if you have it or not. The nice thing is that it covers all the states and you can do a sound a like search as well. If you don't find what you are looking for in the AMA results you can just click below the results on "View Non Members" and that will take you to another listing of physicians. I love this site.

Previous DQS uster
That would depend on the new program. I went from DQS last November to MedRite XL and my count plumeted from 260 an hour to about 100 an hour the first few weeks, but keep in mind I was learning three new accounts at the time. Right now I am at about 220 lines per hour unless I get five 10-minute ESL docs in a row. Just a very cumbersome program.
see previous message above
"Pled" is an American term. The correct word is actually "pleaded."

Just went back to previous
job at a doctors practice for a lunch with past co-workers and friends... after that I'm always glad that I left for transcribing at home. Love alot the people I worked with and even my bosses but hated the rest of the crap that goes with an office, every day a new crisis, etc. When I'm feeling down about transcribing and all the junk that can get you bogged down at home, I just need to make a visit back to the old job site and it makes me realize how lucky I am... not that there aren't things that could be better in the MT at home world, but it sure beats what I would have still been doing if I didn't make the move home. Just wish I could bring a few of my friends with me, but I was the only Transcriptionist in that bunch. Just trying to keep smiling!
One of the ones in the previous post.
There in no guarantee with any of the options that you will have service everywhere you go. If you travel mostly in major cities an air card might be an option. The monthly fee is usually $60+ and I don't know if you have to sign a contract. If you have to be connected to the internet all the time now to work (can't download work and then get off-line) then working in the car isn't going to be an option.
Per this and your previous posts, you have no

I think the owner's name was Dawn. nm
,
the owner screens the MTs and knows what she is doing.
There is one editor/QA person who if push comes to shove and you can't get it you can e-mail that person. It's a small company and run smoothly with no pompous people allowed and no incompetent people allowed.
as a former MTSO owner
Personally, I would not hire anyone unless they could transcribe the hardest dictator I had. And that is at LEAST two years of acute care experience.
I think the expression is, "burned once, twice shy."
FROM THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY
This came from an email from Andy, the owner, last December to the employees:
"Whether we think offshore labor is right or wrong, it has become a fact we cannot escape from. OSi will not actively pursue offshore labor contracts, but we have made the decision to experiment with using some offshore labor to save this large OSi client from going elsewhere. We believe this is the best decision for our employees assigned to this account and the company because this account is growing and we can assign the offshore part to the future increases and not have to reassign any OSi MTs. OSi is committed to continue using US MTs for the majority of their work and we will continue to resist going offshore."
He is talking about Ochsner, and I was told that they STILL offshore to them and also to Sarasota and Mayo.
The problem is that they LIED AND DENIED AND LIED AND DENIED this for years. They got caught when the then-QA manager, SD, mistakenly forwarded an email from the Indian company to the company employees. Of course, she was demoted, so they hired NP to replace her. However, FA pitched a hissy and threatened to go on strike because she was overlooked, so they kissed her a$$ and moved NP to another position. Not surprisingly, that department has gone straight to the toilet, and almost everyone has either quit or gotten fired, in addition to the mass exodus of employees since this came to light, because she is incompetent, inexperienced, and daffy as hell and is the most irresponsible, nonproductive person in a management position.
Be careful. If you are not in THE circle and kiss a$$, you are so dispensable that it is not even funny.
Any company that repeatedly lies about offshoring, promotes incapacitated people on power trips, and sends the work offshore in the first place, is ruthless and cannot be trusted.
Look elsewhere. It will only get worse!
If the owner's name begins with a L, then she's sm
okay. I worked for a company out of Florida called Mediscript Inc a year or so ago and she was real nice. Email me if you like.
Sante Fe owner
I bought a 2004 Sante Fe and I absolutely love it. I get 27/mpg in the city and about 35/mpg highway. It is roomy and comfortable. You also can't beat the warranty. I had some paint chipping right where the doors close on the bottom. I called the 800#, took it in and they fixed it without a nudge and gave me a 2005 to drive in the mean time. Mine is a 6 cyl and fully loaded with a sunroof and all and I only paid $17,000 for it. It'll be paid off in September! Yippee!
Nobody is satisfied with 8.5 if owner is getting 19. (nt)
Not an owner and I do not farm out
I agree that no one should work for $10.00 an hour in this profession. Funny how I've gone from someone new in this thread to someone who owns an MTSO in this thread. Wrong and wrong.
I have my own accounts and do my own work.
I just feel that if you form a group of burnouts, then you continue to be a burnout forever. My initial thought was that only burnouts are invited to form a group by the OP? What about new grads that have a lot to offer in this field that would love to be sitting in some of these burned out seats making some money.
If someone has been burned out time and time again, it is time to look inward at one's self and their choices in their career.
I think it would take one burn out session for me to know this is not my gig. I'm not so sure I'd look for other burn outs to join me in my misery.
You are the owner of this business, are you not?
If you want to make it 20 minutes, that's your perogative. You don't need to ask permission to do what you need to do.
I would second your post as the owner
of my company called me yesterday to assist me with a problem since I had some new antivirus put on my system, just was not working with my platform. This was not the first time she has helped me out and I really appreciate her.
As an IC, you are a business owner .
The organizations you mention are for employee labor relations.
It is up to you to negotiate for your business.
must be the owner who does not want to answer
Are you American?
Owner/Moderator
Will you PLEASE address this issue? I don't want to hear you tell me you are trying to get things together since you claim to have been the web developer for some years. If you want people to trust you, do the right and LEGAL thing and take action. Cutesy little picture of the 2 of you ... wonder what else was cooking that night?
Not at TransTech, They are/were all MTs. Even the owner used to be an MT. One of the
things I really respect most about this company actually. All supervisors, managers, leads and even the owner used to be MTs. I think the only ones who weren't are the IT staff.
Is the owner's initials AM? sm
If so, her rudness ran me away
Emailed owner....
Thank you for the offer. That is so nice. I just emailed the owner asking her if she had this information for me or if any of the other MTs there have it. I will let you know and appreciate the help so much.
The owner of the company said this.... AND
on her site boasts about how she has 13 years experience and those working for her have superior quality, meet deadlines, and desire continued learning...
You would think since she wants such superior quality work, she would be willing to pay for it. Undoubtedly this is a 6-7 cpl company...
Yep, she no doubt gets superior quality there or newbies who will take anything and never expect more money.

Sounds like you might as well be FT with those #s-- at a previous job the min. for PT was 5000
lines every 2 weeks. Granted it got to a point where there was no work so it was impossible to meet quota, but if there was work you had better meet it.....then we had a landslide of work, about 90% ESL.....all the good stuff apparently went up in smoke (they outsourced to the Phillipines).
Did you READ the previous message
I was being sarcastic about being called a "typist". After all, isn't patient care enhanced by ACCURATE and COMPLETE medical records? I would like to think I contribute, albeit modestly, to a patient's care. Don't you ever ask to see your records and check them for accuracy? Couldn't an omission or error result in a problem down the line? It HAS happened!
curious - to you and previous poster
Is there any particular reason why you would not want to use the computer they supply for their work and would rather use your own? I am contemplating a similar job change, and thought I would use the computer the company supplies and keep my own for my personal use. Less wear and tear on mine. - no?
Accesss previous reports
Sounds like your user settings are set up so that you are not allowed to remotely review your previous reports. I'd suggestyou speak with your account manager to see if this could be enabled for you, or if there is another reason.
Is there a way for me to go back and see what actions from the previous
week went for? I have something identical to an auction and I had been watching it, although had not marked it, and it ended today and I want to go back and see what the final bid was and then also would like to go back a week or so and see if there were similar items auctioned and the final bids.
I didn't get any of what you said from the previous post
I think the poster was just saying that nationals do those things mentioned. Nowhere was it said in her post that nationals are crooks. Those are your words and you're trying to put them in her post because she she contradicted your theory.
Still INFJ. We had to take these at a few of my previous employers.
I actually got denied promotion for being an INFJ. Go figure. Then another supervisor told me I was the exact type of employee they were trying to avoid because INFJs are two-faced backstabbers. I've never been like that. If I have a problem with someone, I'll measure the severity of the situation then tell them to their face. Nothing two-faced there. I don't think those personality tests are an accurate projection of a person's future actions or successes. They shouldn't be used in employment or managerial decisions.
Please read previous posts..You will be
tortured to death with IMs. They do not listen to you. Bad Communication with your tech and supervisors on IM from India. Your check is penalized for errors and they will change paydays on your often so your check is shortened all the time. That and you will work yourself to death and notice in 12 hours you maybe have made an average of $8 an hour. There is no way that they pay for footers and headers or spaces as they claim. It never adds up. Dont do it.
