Did you read Amanda's last comment? Here it is:
' I am going to college to get into another profession and be done with all of this.'
My answer:
I applaud this sentence in your last comment.
And for THIS I say 'Thank you, Amanda!'. For being so courageous and honest.
Working like a 'horse', eating lunch at the computer, not having time to go to the bathroom, taking only a total of 40 minute break in an 8-hour workday, is NOT a good suggestion to improve work conditions and an incentive for self improvement. This is slavery.
Therefore Amanda decided to go to college and give it ALL up.
Good for her!

Always room for improvement
I do agree that they have areas where they need to improve but I promise you that they are working hard at making changes for the better for the good of the MTs out there. I'm sure I'm going to get slammed for coming to their defense (I can take it), but I just find it a bit hypocritical that so many people are so quick to bash them but yet don't hesitate to send folks to the organization when they need something such as the QA Document.
I probably shouldn't have jumped to conclusions (yes, I'm guilty), as I don't have any idea if those who posted above referring this person to AAMT are pro-AAMT or not. But, still want to say hooray for seing SOMETHING positive being posted on this board about AAMT. No, they are not perfect but they have achieved great things and greater things to come, I feel confident.
I was wonering if there has been improvement
I see they have a bad rep in the archives, but I heard they were better now.
Thanks for your response--8 cpl starting is what I have seen a lot of on here for other companies. Does anyone know about editing starting out pay with SoftScript?
A trailer would be an improvement over my house.
I would love to be able to afford a nice trailer. At least most of them have two bathrooms. Right now they are out of my league. I live in an older house on a farm (170 acres that we have paid for). I am not sure I would enjoy living in a "park", but more because of the lack of privacy than for pride. Now there are really nice upscale communities of manufactured homes. Of course there are still a lot of snobs around who look down at their noses at anyone who does not live up to perceived standards. My brother works for a dealership. I have visited and looked at those homes. Some of them are out of this world. Some are made up to the quality of a regular house and cost accordingly. With some of the shoddy construction I have seen in new homes lately, no one really can honestly say that these houses are any better than a "trailer".
Production improvement plan?
A friend of mine who is a fellow scribe has a supervisor who is asking her to come up with a "production improvement plan." Assuming that her Expanders are already highly functional (she ony adds to them from time to time after 15 months of working on the same account), any other ideas of what a production improvement plan would consist of?
Work 2 jobs here to pay off home improvement. sm
I am currently working a second job to pay for some home improvements. I figured it would take about 3 years to pay off the debt but now it is looking like it will be more like 2 - 2 1/2 years. My kids are older so they understand but I am TIRED!. I have worked this second job for about 1 1/2 years now and while I am glad I had it available, I am about ready to quit the second job. What good is a nice house if I am to exhausted to enjoy it and my family?
Taco Salad and the really hot Aussie home improvement guy ...
CAN'T remember his name. He'd be able to fix up a nice little hut! Ooooolala!
At my company, as soon as they start showing improvement, they are gone and we get a new batch.
