they need to require an xtra 30 days onto medical school for a mandatory class in "dictation 101".  does'nt need t be more than that & probably could be less...all they have to do is have these newbies dictate as most normally do you know, take the deep breath and try to finish the dictation before the next breath, etc.


Then, sit them all down to try to just type out, no formatting etc, just straight type out what they just said...better yet, have one of their fellow med students do it, sorta work in pairs... and they will be graded on how many words wrong, blanks etc...heck, we could even have their professors/attendings take a listen to and see if they have any clue what was said.  I mean, don't the attendings really have a stake at this..may even wake them up a bit?


Now, let experienced MT's like us be the ones who grade of the final exam...wanna bet just how many new doc's would graduate in the next class
